Espio stood waiting at the gates, leaning against his motorcycle and watching the building's entrance. He took a drag from his cigarette and rubbed his temples frustratedly as he reviewed the situation.

He perked up when the doors of the entrance opened again and could see from a distance how the guards escorted Lanolin out.

"WELL FUCK YOU!!!" He could hear her yell, "WHO WANTS TO WORK FOR THAT DICKHEAD ANYWAYS!" She shouted and threw the car keys at them.

Espio watched in amusement as Lanolin came his way. "Didn't let them take you easily, did you now?" He asked, and took another drag.

"Of course not," She said with a mischievous grin, "If I did, I probably wouldn't have had enough time to transfer all the documents."

Espio raised his eyebrows, "All of them?"

"The most recent ones at least," She said and patted the pocket of her trousers, "Couldn't take the risk of letting them search me," She said with a wink. "Thanks for the heads-up."

"You're absolutely amazing," Espio said and pressed out his cigarette.

Lanolin's smile faded as she looked at Espio's cheek, "What was it he wanted?"

"Silver," Espio answered, "To get started next week under Abrams' supervision."

"Colonel Abrams?" She asked confused, "That's not the worst."

"In no lifetime will I let Silver work here!"

"I know, I know, I understand. This isn't the place for them," Lanolin quickly said to calm him down. "So...... What do we do now?"

"I need to hide them. He will try and threaten Silver to work for him, if not he'll lock them away because their powers are a risk to let walk around freely. He indeed knows Silver's an illegal citizen and will use that information to push them into a corner."

"Sometimes I really don't understand how that man can be your father."

"He never was a father," Espio said with a bitter tone in his voice. "I have to go get Silver," He said and pulled on his helmet, "I promise I will try and fund our project for as long as I can. Tell them, I'm sorry for letting them down." Lanolin frowned at him in confusion, "Thank you for your service and your support through all the good and the bad. You've been the best friend I could wish for. I'm sure we will meet again."

"Wait, what?" Lanolin said disbelievingly, "Are you fucking crazy?!" She took the helmet from the back of his motorcycle, "I'm going with you," She said with determination.

Espio raised his eyebrows in surprise.

"Did you really think that I would let you fix your shit on your own, after everything you've done for me and my family?" She pulled on the helmet, "Come on, let's go get Silver."

A grin appeared on Espio's face, "You're-"

"Stop whining and let's go," She said as she took the back seat and patted the seat in front of her.

It was the beginning of the afternoon when Shadow parked his motorcycle at the end of the street near the museum. He pulled off his helmet and took his papers out of his inner pocket. He had a bright proud smile planted on his face. "Silver's going to be so happy," He whispered to himself.

A noise was heard in the distance which made him perk up. He turned to the direction where the noise came from and saw a blue flickering light appear in the far distance combined with the sirens of multiple police cars. He frowned curiously as the cars came closer and sped past him.
