Vee beams. "I could try?"
Luz nods enthusiastically, "Please!" Then looks down blushing, "If you'd like?"
Vee somehow smiles more! She cups Luz's cheeks, lifting her to meet her lips. Her lips, her real lips, moving over Luz's and making her gasp, her tongue teasingly licking both of Luz's lips at once! Luz leans closer with a whimper, and Vee gently reaches for the tip of Luz's tongue, squeezing.
Luz gasps out a moan, and another as Vee gently but insistently pulls on Luz's tongue, sucking it with her lips and making Luz's whole body shake against the banister, which audibly shudders! Vee let's go, looking up with Luz to see motes of dust knocked free of the rafters. More motes fall in places, coming in pairs in time with an all too familiar tap-tap, tap-tap, tap-tap.
They both sigh under their breaths: "Flapjack!"
Luz bangs her head back against the banister and another creak, reluctantly admitting: "We should probably get back, take turns trying to distract him, again!"
Vee pouts, "Can't we just stay here making out in this dingy basement?"
Luz smirks, "You make it sound so romantic!"
"Luz, I'd roll around in a dumpster with you!" She blinks, "Okay that was meant to sound romantic."
Luz laughs. "I get it," she cups her cheek, "And thank you."
She tries to let go, but Vee holds Luz's hand against her cheek, rubbing the side of her muzzle against it. She breathes out, "No, thank you! I still can't, I just – thank you!"
Luz squeezes, "You're very welcome!" She blushes, "And maybe later, you could, we could-"
Vee nods enthusiastically!
Luz smiles! Then she takes a deep breath, "Okay, sewing needles!"
Vee nods, "The reason we came down here."
Luz manically nods, "Totally!"
"Definitely not to make out."
"Or escape Flapjack."
Tap-tap, tap-tap.
They both sigh, and reluctantly start to look around the clubhouse's dank basement. There's cobwebs everywhere, a dented boiler, a wooden wardrobe, old tools, all of it reeking of dust, stale air, and a musty undertone of rot smelling like sickly sweet cheese. Vee frowns, looking up at the wooden shelf running one wall, covered in assorted knick knacks, "Whyyy did you think there'd be needles down here again?"
Luz opens the large wardrobe with a loud creak, "I thought I saw some when I was down here before."
Vee breathes in to grow her tail, giving her the extra height she needs to look down at the shelf's rusted contents. She still can't really make them out, starting to feel them one after another as she makes her way along the shelf. "Why were you down here before?"
Luz doesn't answer.
Vee turns, still feeling the shelf's contents as she asks: "Luz?"
Luz sighs, "Hunter was down here."
"Oh?" Vee turns back to the shelf, "Why was he down here?"
"He uh," she closes the wardrobe, "he was kneeling here, with a baseball bat... sobbing."
Vee stops, "Why was he sobbing?!"
"He, uh, he said it was because he got something stingy in his cut, the one on his finger?"
"That um," she thinks of his many scars, "that seems, uh, out of character?"
Luz sighs, "When I asked him to show me he pulled away. And, and then," she breathes out, lowering her head, "then he admitted that wasn't really why he was down here."
