Chapter 13

Zhan was very worried about Yibo's health after the afternoon incident. Even though Yibo kept reassuring him over and over again that he felt fine.

Yibo didn't want to go back to the hospital because he feared that with all the attention he gets from all those nurses, he will put his efforts with Zhan in vain.

That was not the only reason. He also had a bad feeling about going back there. He felt that it was all luck that he was not discovered the first time, and now, knowing how much reach both sides of his family had, he was concerned about Zhan's safety.

Zhan's days off went past without much drama. Yibo didn't remember anything else. Zhan kept begging Yibo to let him run more tests on him in vain. Yibo refused all his effort. Zhan was concerned about Yibo's health, and Yibo said no because he was concerned about their safety.

It was a tug of war between the 2 and neither was willing to give up.

"Yibo, I need to go to work tonight, at least consider coming with me. I will do everything myself, and the nurses you are worried about won't even be there."

"Zhan, I feel great. I don't think it's really that urgent. It could have been an isolated incident. Wouldn't it be a call for concern if it kept happening? It's been 3 days, and nothing happened."

"That is what I am scared of. What if it happens when I am not around? What I saw as a doctor, who deals with head trauma, was not good at all."

"I get that, but think about it, there was a lot of things that happened that day. I was stressed and overwhelmed, and we can even say very emotional. So that could have triggered that seizure because my body was already taxed."

"That's not comforting at all. As a doctor hearing this, it tells me that something is wrong. People don't just have seizures because they are overwhelmed. If that happens again and you are alone, how do you think I will feel if something serious happens to you?"

"I get that, and believe it or not, I feel the same way about you."

Zhan stood there staring at Yibo and realized that this man was extremely stubborn. Yibo was not easily swayed at all.

"OK, have it your way. Just call me if anything happens, ok?"

Yibo didn't remember the state he was in when the seizure happened, but one this was clear to him, and that was he won't be able to call if that happened again. Even after he came out of it, he stayed confused and disoriented for a long time, but for Zhan's peace of mind, he promised anyway.

"OK, I will call you. I promise.

They went shopping the day before, and the one thing that was on the top of Zhan's shopping list was to get a cellphone for Yibo. After Yibo getting lost the other day, Zhan didn't want to risk another episode that could potentially have dire consequences. He also bought him clothes and shoes.

Zhan left for work, and Yibo was left alone with a list of commands that he had to swear never to break.

Don't leave the house without telling me.
Don't open the door for anyone.
Don't...don't....don't. It made him feel like a child left alone at home.

Of course, Yibo promised because Zhan looked like he wouldn't leave if he didn't promise.

Yibo sat down on the couch to plan his day. At least, that's the last thing he remembered doing before he found himself in the body of his younger self.......

"Uncle Zhuyi, do you think I will ever see my mom again?"

"I don't know, young man, but with everything going on right now, I wish your mom would have just let me take her with me as well. She can't go to war with so many people alone."
