"Wait, so how did you get the evidence from your mom then?"

"The brown envelope that had all those documents had other papers as well. The only problem right now is that I can not verify most of the information because the people who met with my mother back then are missing."

"Missing? So I guess it's safe to say dead."

"Yeah, that's my suspension, too."

"Wow, your stepmom is really something else. All this sounds like a movie to me."

"If it wasn't my life, I wouldn't believe it too."

"So what about her kids? Don't you have half siblings?"

"Yes, I do have a brother and a sister that are also used as ponds in her games. According to my knowledge and research, they are not aware of their mothers shenanigans. So they will be my only hope to get my father away from that woman. I just have no idea how I will contact them."

"You said his mental state is a bit off. Can you tell me more about that?"

"He acts like a child. He gets excited about every little thing and doesn't retain information. So talking to him is like talking to a 3 year old in a toy shop being distracted by everything. He can not even focus long enough anyway. I don't know how to describe it. You would have to see him to understand what I mean."

"That does sound like he is being drugged, but we won't know what kinds of drugs are being administered until we run tests on him."

Yibo didn't want to continue talking about his dad. He spent so many years away from his father, and he believed that his father cared more about his company than him. Yibo loved his father, but to him, knowing how Zhan felt about him was more important.

He was anxious to know where he stood when it came to Zhan. They can work everything out after that. He knew if he kept talking to Zhan about his father, Dr Xiao would take over the conversation. It would be very hard to redirect to the reason Yibo came back.

"Zhan, you still haven't told me if we are OK or not? I don't want to continue talking about my family's complicated situation without knowing where I stand with you."

"You really want to talk about that right now. Don't you think your father's state is more dire than heart matters? Some drugs can have irreversible damage, you know?"

"I know that, but to me, knowing how you feel is more important right now. Zhan, don't talk to me as a doctor. Please, just answer me. I came back because I really want to know, please. I do care about my father, and that's the reason I felt sp much pressure to go back and sort things out, but Bin made me realize I cannot sacrifice my own happiness in order to do that."

"It just feels weird that you want to talk about that right now. I would have thought you needed my help with your father. "

"I do, but i need you to stop avoiding my questions. Are my feelings for you that unimportant?"

"They are important. Very important."

"So if I told you that I love you and that I want to be with you. What would your response be?"

Zhan knew what to say, and after speaking to Jiyi, he was more sure now that he was not willing to let this man go.

"Are you sure there is no one else out there?"

"Yes, I am sure. I have already told you. It's only you."

"And there are no more surprises?"

"No, I promise."

"Then say it again properly so that I can respond to you properly."
