I’d been with Josh now for around two weeks and I’d avoided telling him my secret which I was quite proud of, but the problem was, I could now tell that he was getting a little bit suspicious. Jaymi on the other hand, was very annoyed with me that I hadn’t told Josh yet. He kept setting me up with chances but I refused every chance. I kept promising Jaymi that I’d tell my boyfriend soon but no time seemed right, everything was going so well, why change things now? I also auditioned for the School Production, Jaymi, Olly and I getting casted as the three main roles, making the play a comedy that would have people’s stomachs hurting. It would be performed at the end of the year which I was really looking forward too. There was a little bit of drama over the part. The other girl to go as my part and to be cast as the understudy was Sophie and she didn’t take it too well when she realised who had beaten her in getting one of the lead roles. I mean I couldn’t help it if the teachers liked my performance more than hers could I? Josh was so proud of me when I got the part, vowing that he would be front row with the others, cheering me along. It was something I was looking forward too and it was one of the best feelings in the world knowing that I had made Josh proud.
Speaking of my boyfriend, we’d had some very funny dates over these past weeks. We went ice skating which was hilarious watching Josh try to show off and failing miserably as he kept falling. We skated into the middle of the ice rink, finally getting Josh a little more confident on the skates when the rink was asked to be cleared for it to be cleaned to make it a little safer. I skated over to the exit, forgetting that I’d left Josh, who couldn’t skate, in the middle of the rink on his own. He wasn’t very happy when he had to be escorted and helped off the ice by the staff who worked in the rink. When he was returned to me, I was helpless laughing but he didn’t really see the funny side. All the way home, he moaned about how his reputation had been ruined but we all knew that he was just being silly, what reputation was he talking about? He wasn’t the only person on that ice rink who couldn’t skate. Another one of our dates was at the coffee shop which was very cute, we just spent some time talking and I found out about Josh’s home life. He has a cat at home called Oreo, which is like his child, and he showed me a picture. I must admit that is one very cute cat.
Tonight I was going over to the boys’ room with Lucie and Jessie having a night in front of the television watching the football match against Chelsea and Manchester United. There was one thing about Josh and that was he was one of the biggest football fans I had ever met. His team was Chelsea and he never missed a match, he was either watching it on television or he was in the stadium screaming his lungs out with the other men. Josh’s big passion was football and he loved playing as much as he loved watching Chelsea on the television, hence the fact why he was a player on the football team of the University. I’d never seen him play but I heard that he was amazing and I didn’t doubt it, he watched so much football so I guessed he just pretended that he was Ashley Cole. The only problem was, I was no Cheryl. I walked into the room from a hard day of dance and drama rehearsals, dumping my bag down and getting changed into my leggings and long baggy jumper with my white converse. I re-brushed my hair and tied it back up into a messy bun. I then made my way over to Josh’s room where everyone would be waiting for me. Walking to the end of the corridor, I banged on the door waiting for someone to answer.
“Well why’s he played Terry?!?” exclaimed Josh.
I guessed that the players for the match had just been announced and Josh wasn’t exactly the happiest with the line-up. I giggled to myself. The door opened.
“Rach, come in” greeted George.
I gave him a quick hug and dumped my coat down on Josh’s bed, saying hello to everyone else in the room. Josh moved up on the sofa for me to take a seat next to him but George jumped over, leaving me without anywhere to sit.
“Sorry Rachy” George giggled.
“I’ll get you back” I replied, thumping him lightly on the leg.
I took a place on the floor, sitting in between Josh’s legs as he played with my hair. He was dressed in his blue Chelsea football shirt. The first whistle sounded and the match started. Josh always got frustrated with me when we watched the football together because I never really understood the game. I just knew that 11 men ran around a field, kicking a ball and aimed to get it into a goal. The match went on and within five minutes of the match starting, Josh was put into a very bad mood because Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney had put the team in the lead by one point.
“What? How’s that even possible” Josh screamed, running to the screen giving it a piece of his mind.
I found it so funny how Josh got so annoyed by the players on screen and started screaming at them, ordering them around the pitch and telling them what moves to make, even though we all knew that they couldn’t hear him. The match continued for the next two hours and eventually, we all got as involved as Josh was in the game, screaming and shouting for Chelsea, erupting into cheers when they scored and encouraging the footballers to pass the ball when they were getting closer and closer to the goal. The match ended up with a win for Chelsea which Josh was very pleased about, claiming that the footballers could hear him from the room.
“Have to use some of those techniques on Friday at practice” Jaymi laughed
“Yeah, you’ll make a good ballet dancer” Olly teased
“Oh shush, I’m better than the whole Chelsea team put together”
We all just giggled as to how much of a dedicated fan he was. As it got later, Jessie, Lucie and I decided to head back over to the room. We each kissed our partners goodnight and walked back.
