I got closer and closer to Jaymi and his friends. Josh, JJ and George became like my brothers and Lucie and Jessie were the best friends I could have asked for. All of my classes were moved around. I was put in an English class with Jaymi, a dance class with Josh and a drama class with JJ so I was always with a friend. Danny and Charlene got back together, she returned to the most popular girl in the school. I know you'll think that I missed being popular and having a lot of friends but truly I didn't. That circle of friends was very bitchy and it wasn't something that I wanted to be a part of. As for me, I lost the fake tan, the short skirts, all the make up and the hair extensions and returned to my hoodies, jeans, converse, natural hair and natural make up. I lost the so called friends in the popular group but when I returned back to normal, I gained all of my old friends back, boy had I missed them.
We sat in the lunch room, the two couples were laughing and often kissing. Jaymi and Olly were talking so Josh and I sat laughing at each other. I really liked Josh, there was something about him, the way when he walked into the room, he smiled and headed straight over to me. The way he always knew how to make me laugh, the way he knew when I was sad. Josh and I were listening to a song on his ipod, jamming out to the drum solo laughing as we looked like idiots. That was until my chair was moved and I fell off, crashing down to the floor. I looked up to see Danny and Luke looking over me, laughing whilst their girlfriends stood cackling behind them. Josh immediately came to my aid, helping me up and making sure that I was going to be ok. He helped to my feet. Then Jaymi stood up, anger in his face, Olly trying to make him sit down.
"What was that for huh?" He asked.
"You talking to me?" Said Danny
"You know damn well I'm talking to you"
"Oh sit down gay boy" said Luke, walking off with Danny.
Jaymi's smiley face turned into a frown and slowly, he sat down. Instead of being bubbly, him and Olly didn't speak. He was upset, I knew that but I couldn't say anything. The silence between them was so awkward. Josh nudged me as if to ask what was going on but I just shrugged my shoulders. The two of us then started to talk to the others. JJ and I doing an accent challenge whilst the others filmed us in giggles of laughter. Jaymi sighed, got up and left the table.
"I'd better go after him..."Started George.
"No, let Rach go" Said Josh
"Should I?"
"He'd tell you more than he'd tell us"
I nodded in agreement and stood up. I made my way out of the hall, looking around for Jaymi. I walked down the corridor to hear sobbing. Following the sound, I found Jaymi crying into his hands.
"Jaymi, whats wrong?"
"Nothing...J..Just leave me alone"
"Ignore him Jaymi, he doesn't understand what he's talking about"
"But what if he does?"
"What do you mean Jaymi?"
"What if he does know what he's talking about?"
"I don't understand"
"He called me gay Rach..."
"It's not a bad thing Jaymi, even if you were gay, it wouldn't make you any different"
"yeah..." He said sarcastically
"Well you're not gay are you, so stop panicking and go in there, don't stop talking to Olly"
Jaymi put his head down and shook his head as another tear fell down his face. That could only mean one thing.
"Oh Jaymi....." I said, putting my arms around him and hugging him tightly.
