I looked everywhere for Josh. It wasn't like him to just leave without telling someone where he was going. I waited with the others, but it wasn't the same without Josh. It got later and later, it was getting very weird, and very annoying. Where the hell was Josh?. I asked every hour or so but just to get the same answer that he left and didn't say where he was going. I was so determined to tell Josh how I felt today, I wanted to tell him I love him but the later it got, the more I started to get doubts.
I sat in the room with Jessie and Lucie. They were sat having a pamper night, covering their face in green natural substances with cucumber on their eyes. I on the other hand just sat on my bed, my phone next to me as quiet as a mouse.
"What's wrong Rach?" Asked Lucie
"Nothing" I replied with a sigh.
"Well it's obvious there's something"
"What if there is, it wouldn't make a difference" I snapped
"It's Josh isn't it"
They'd guessed. I sighed and nodded my head, putting it down.
"What's he done?"
"I...I...I was going to tell him"
"YOU WERE?!?" Shrieked Jessie
"Mhm, but then he left"
"Oh yeah, where did he go?" Asked Lucie
"Your guess is as good as mine" I replied
"Well, why...why don't you go to the boys room now and see if he's there?"
"Do you think I should?"
"For sure, what harm can it do?"
I guess they were right, what harm could it do? little did I know, it would do more harm than I thought possible.
I picked up my hoodie, slipped on my converse and walked out of the door. I picked up my compact mirror taking a glance at my reflection. I flashed a smile and thought about what I was going to say to him. There wasn't any real words to tell someone that you truly loved them. It took a lot of courage and a lot of thought to make sure that you didn't sound like a complete and utter idiot. As I ran down the stairs and into the courtyard, I got the shock of my life. Josh was holding hands with Sophie Williams, what was he doing with her? As I crept closer, I hide behind the nearest tree, looking in on the two students.
"Thanks for an amazing night Josh" Sophie said.
"You're welcome, I'm glad I didn't tell Rach"
Wait Rach? Me? What did he want to tell me? I stood in shock, did he want to tell me the same thing I wanted to tell him? Did he feel the same way? What had Sophie said?. My thoughts were stopped when I saw Josh pull Sophie closer, his arms around her waist and his lips slowly touched hers. I felt a tear trickle down my face and my heart sink. I heard Josh's footsteps coming closer so I pressed myself against the tree, hoping he wouldn't notice me. When the coast was clear, I decided to go for a walk around to clear my head? What would I tell the others.
After around an hour, I returned to the room. I expected to see the girls sat on the bed eagerly awaiting the news but instead when I walked in I was greeted with hugs and cuddles.
"It's ok Meg, what's not meant to be, just isn't meant to be"
"You know?" I asked
"JJ told us"
"So is it confirmed?"
"Josh is with Sophie Rach..."
That was the final confirmation I needed. I guess i'd just have to move on, something that we all know was going to be impossible.
The next morning, I headed down to the common room. It was a Saturday so we had no lessons today. The gang sat around but with one person missing, Josh. I sighed and was hugged tightly by Jaymi, then George and then JJ.
"Where's Josh?" Asked Olly.
The minute Olly asked his question, the room was filled with gasps as Josh walked into the room with his new girlfriend on his arm. Josh glared over at our table, I smiled but he didn't return my greeting. I knew he was now in the popularity bubble and heaven only knows how long it was going to take for that bubble to burst.
