Welcome to the archive: A test for a story I wanted to do but stopped a while back. I wanted to create a character from the Soul of Cinder and this is the result. This is also another result of doc diving.

They weren't sure how it or when it happened. There was no ringing of bells, no call of fire, nor the attack of a beast of the Abyss. They had simply reawakened to the silence of the den they'd found so long ago. How long had it been?

They weren't sure, it wasn't easy to tell time while sleeping. It didn't help that they couldn't see the sky, though they were unsure if that would help either as the last time they saw it it had been an inky abyss with no stars nor moon to light their way. Neither the sun which had been snuffed as well.

They supposed it didn't really matter than. The sky wouldn't help them so they would just have to estimate the time when they left the cavern.

They attempted to move but noticed a peculiarity, something was holding their limbs. They looked down and realized it was too dark to see anything, they tested to see if they could move their hand and sure enough they could. A bit stiff but better than their limbs at least.

They focused for a moment and soon a flame burst to life within their palm, lighting the area. They looked down again and to their surprise noticed their body was slightly consumed by the rock. How had that happened?

They thought for moment and decided it didn't really matter. They tensed themselves up and began pushing against their stony prison. Cracks began sounding out through the cavern and soon the rock that trapped them broke under the pressure.

Without the rock holding them they made to stand up and stumbled slightly. It seemed their legs were unused to the motion, it had been far longer than they could have thought if that was the case.

They forced their legs to obey and soon they stood to their full height. The fire within their palm pulsed warmly as they began looking around the cavern to find an exit. Seeing a passage they moved to follow it but stopped as they remembered something.

They turned back around and looked to the middle of the cavern, there sunk into the ground was the coiled greatwsord that had been their weapon. They moved forth and grabbed the handle, upon doing so the cold metal heated up and began glowing.

They pulled the Firelink Greatsword from the ground and sparks followed its unsheathing. Nodding they began their trek out of the cave, hoping they could find a way out as they worried time had closed the cavern.

Even if that were the case, it'd be a minor inconvenience. Rock wouldn't stop them, the very earth they walked within would not stop them.

So what do you think?
