DMC belongs to Capcom and Highschool DXD belongs to Ichiei Ishibumi
Welcome to the archive: Another Vergil in DxD idea that I wrote around the same time as the previous one and forgot about it.
BRRRRRRRRR-
"Mhhh," Vergil let out as he woke, "What is that infernal noise-oh."
Vergil blindly grasped toward the flip-phone's general direction. An acquaintance had gotten him so they could stay in contact even though he could've just portaled to them but she'd brought up the point that she could be in a public space. After finding out about the rather secretive nature of the supernatural in this world he decided to bite the bullet and accept the phone.
His hand finally found purchase as he grabbed the phone that was placed on the small coffee table near the couch he was sleeping on. He flipped it open and pressed the green button with the phone symbol like he'd been told before bringing it up to his ear, "Yes," he said, still groggy after being woken up.
"Hey, Vergil, sorry for waking you up," A voice said from the other side of the phone.
"It's alright, what did you need, Adachi?" Vergil asked. Chiyo Adachi, Vergil's roommate and owner of the home he was currently crashing in. After coming to this world he'd mostly just wandered around trying to find a way back home and had come to Japan after sensing a presence.
Vergil searched for the presence but was annoyed to find it had disappeared. After deciding to get some tea he'd walked into a cafe and was immediately greeted by a young woman in a french maid uniform. Apparently he'd walked into a maid cafe by mistake but he'd decided to just get something to eat and then leave.
The young woman, who later learned her name was Chiyo Adachi, turned out to be doing this part-time as her real job was to teach English at the all girls school Kuoh Academy. Vergil had enjoyed the food and decided to return.
Each time Adachi had served him and they had eventually begun talking. They easily spoke of books, poems, authors and just general arts. Eventually it came to Adachi's attention that Vergil was practically homeless and she had offered to allow him to be her roommate as her previous one had been a complete slob.
Vergil denied at first but she continued to hound him about it. Eventually she actually managed to wear him down and got him to at least consider it, which later turned out to be a blessing for Vergil as he'd been looking for a place to stay but he had no money. Adachi hadn't forced Vergil to pay rent but he was searching for a job nevertheless he did not want to be in someone's debt.
Dante had shown the pain that could cause.
"Oh its just uh, I may have found you a job," Vergil's mind woke up at hearing those words.
"You have?" He asked, already standing up, summoning the Yamato.
"Yup, now I'll admit it entirely depends on you in this instance, however,"
"What is it?"
"Well, I took note of your love for literature, kinda difficult to miss, and recently the librarian of the academy has retired," Vergil suddenly had an idea where this was going, "and the Headmistress is having trouble finding female librarians in the area and the substitute can't keep up with all the girls going to the library every day."
"Isn't the Academy an all-girls one, wouldn't my presence upset that?"
"Well, that's the thing, the Headmistress has been thinking about opening the school to all genders but is having difficulty figuring out how she'd do that. I think hiring a male teacher at Kuoh could be the first real step to that."
Vergil considered it and then unsheathed the Yamato and slashed forward in the air in a vertical line then diagonally, a tear in the dimension opened and Vergil walked through. Vergil walked directly into the tear.
On the other side of the phone call Chiyo was confused, "Vergil, Vergil? Did he hang up-"
"I'll do it," Vergil said, stepping out of the portal into the office of Chiyo and causing Chiyo to screech in fear.
