Chapter 6 The Dinner Party

I was so nervous! I pulled up to my house after a long day at the mall. I walked into the house, "Nikki could you come here for a second," my dad said in the living room.

I walked to my parents, "yeah, what's up?" I asked slightly nervous at what they were going back to talk to me about

"Well your mother and I have been talking," my dad said 'uh oh,' I thought to myself, "and we think that we should...,"

"What?! The anticipation is killing me, just tell me!" I yelled

"Move to Florida," my mom said looking at me. I opened my mouth but nothing came out. I stumbled backwards and fell onto a seat behind me, "talk to us sweetie," my mom said

"I don't want to move," I whispered, "I can't leave everyone I know behind," Especially Ash, I thought to myself, "I've lived here forever, I can't just pick up everything I've known for almost 16 years and leave!" I yelled standing up and running upstairs to my room

"Nikki Ever! Get back down here this instant, We are not finished talking!" My dad yelled from down stairs. I ignored him and ran to my room with tears in my eyes. I slammed my door and fell to the floor. I was bawling like a little baby, suddenly I felt strong arms came around my waist and lift me off the ground and into there arms.

I looked up and saw Felix, instantly I wrapped my arms around his neck and cried on his shoulder, "What's wrong, Nik," he said with concern in his voice. I pulled away from him and looked deep into his eyes. He looked worried and scared

"My parents said that we may have to move," I said and I started crying like a baby again. Felix pulled me in close, "Shh, it's okay Nikki," he whispered to me

"No it's going to okay, Felix!" I said pushing him away from me. He stumbled backwards in surprise, "I'm leaving you, Sam, Charlie, and...," I couldn't think about him right now

"Ash," Felix said looking away from me, "I see the way he looks at you Nikki... he loves you,"

My eyes widened in shock, "no, Ash Black does not love me!" Wait, maybe he does. He talked to me about his past and his dad, he trusted me to keep his secret. And I was going to tell him mine... maybe I love him too, "and I don't love him,"

"Yes, you do Nik," Felix said walking to me, "and it kills me. It kills me that you've fallen for him and not for me,"

"I haven't fallen for anybody, Felix," I said cupping his face with my hands. He looked deep into my eyes, "I'm just confused. How could Ash love me, he's always hated me?"

"I don't know Nik," Felix said still looking into my eyes, "but I don't want to talk about him right now,"

With that Felix pushed his lips to mine. I have to admit I was surprised at first. The guy that was my first and only love is kissing me in my room! I started to kiss him back, moving our lips in sync with each other. I pulled away, "I can't Felix," I said looking up at him

"Why not Nik?!" He seemed angry and confused by me moving away from him, "I came back for you,"

"Felix just stop!" I yelled, "you're making everything more confusing?! Just leave, Leave Felix," he looked at me in shock. But was quickly replaced with anger

"You push everyone that has ever cared about you away, Nikki Ever! And it looks like you just lost me as well," he said he stormed over to my window, pulled it open and jumped out of it. Without a second glance to me.

I fell to the floor, I felt sad but not sad like a puppy died. I felt like something has been taken from my life. After a couple of minutes my mom yelled to me, "Hey Nikki the Black family will be here soon," I nodded my head but I realized that we couldn't see me, "yeah I'm getting ready," my voice was scratchy and low.

I pushed my self off the floor and got ready for the crapest night of my life.

••1 HOUR LATER••

I had just finished doing my hair when I heard the doorbell ring. I looked at myself in the mirror one last time. I had a white dress on that lace on top of it. I had curled my hair, so it looked like it was falling down in waves. I nodded my head in approval and walked out of my room and down into the Abyss of insanity.

I heard voices in the front room. I walked in and everybody stopped talking and looked at me. I saw Mrs. Black, she had blonde hair with the prettiest blue eyes, she was looking at me with a beautiful smile. Ash must have got his eyes from his mom. I saw Mr. Black, he had black hair and blue eyes. He was very attractive, but he was looking at me with a frown of disappointment, Ash must have got his incredible good looks from his dad.

Suddenly I remembered what Ash told me about his father. About how he beats Ash and his mom. I looked around the room and made eye contact with Ash. He was staring at me with wide eyes, he gave me a small smile. Ash was wearing a white T-Shirt and a pair of nice jeans. He had a plaid green cardigan on top of his shirt.

"Aw, and her is my daughter now, Nikki this is the Black family," my dad said smiling at me

"Yes dad I know who they are, we have been neighbors forever," I said laughing I walked into the room and sat down by Ash, because that was the only seat left in the room. He leaned over to me and whispered in my ear, "you look beautiful night, K,"

I blushed a little bit, and muttered a small thank you to him. Suddenly my mom appeared from the kitchen, "dinner is ready," and with that we all walked into the kitchen. I sat down next to my dad and across from my mom. Ash sat next to me and was across from he's mom, but was next to his dad as well.

We talked and laughed about childhood memories, for what felt like forever. Suddenly Ashes father looked at me with a small smile on his face, "So Nikki," he said looking at Ash and I, "how long have you been dating my son?"

I almost choked on my water. I looked up and saw my mom and dad looking at me with complete shock. I looked at Ashes mom she had a huge grin on her face, I finally looked at Ash. He had a smirk playing on his lips. I gulped, he knew this was going to happen. Well I wasn't going down with out a fight!
