Chapter 22 The Funeral

Today's Felix's funeral.

I am about to explode! Everybody keeps coming up to me and saying how sorry they are for me and I just want to punch them in the face. I think they know how I feel but they don't! I've lost my bestest friend in this whole world and now I'm alone!

I sat next to Felix's parents with Ash next to me. I felt numb and I just wanted this day to be over.

"And now we will hear some words from Felix's closes friend, Nikki Ever," the preacher said looking me with sad eyes. I took a deep breath, Ash squeezed my hand and I stood up. I walked to the front and stoop at the pulpit.

"Well I don't know what to say," I looked down at the words that I had written about Felix and crumbled it into a ball, "Felix O'Hare wasn't just my best friend he was my brother. And I don't know what I'm going to do without him in my life anymore. Felix always could see the positive side of things, it was just one of the many things he was good at.

"Sure he may have been annoying at times," I laughed to myself a little, "I remember I was talking to this guy I liked and he came up to us and he told the guy that I had  STD's, " I got a few laughs and I looked at Felix's parents and saw that they were smiling at me with tears in there eyes, "I didn't see it at the time that he was saying that to protect me. I love Felix and I always will. He is gone but will never be forgotten," I walked off the stage and sat back down at my seat and grabbed onto Ashes hand.

He leaned over and kissed my cheek. I smiled to him, "I love you,"

"And I love you," he said playing with my fingers.

ONE YEAR AFTER FUNERAL

"Ash where are we going?" I giggled. His hand felt so huge in mine. After the funeral things got a little harder. I called Felix's phone and when I heard his voicemail I burst out crying and called Ash. He rushed over to my house and held me the whole night.

"Come on!" He said dragging me through the woods. I know, creepy right. But I guess it's kinda cute. We walked into a clearing and I gasped at the sight.

It was on a cliff that if you looked over it you could see the whole valley. There was a picnic blanket with candles around it.

"Wow, you are so cliché!" I said laughing at him. I looked at him but he was already looking at me intently, "Ash?"

He blinked, "yeah? Sorry. Let's eat shall we?" He sat down and I sat down next to him, "I'm sorry about this, I thought you would like it," he said gesturing around him.

I grabbed his face and kissing his lips. I wrapped my hands around his neck while he wrapped his around my waist. I pulled away from him but held onto his face, "I do love it. Everything about this," I looked around, "I love. I'm here with you, ad that makes it better,"

He kissed me, "I'm glad you like it so much,"

We sat and talked for what seemed like hours! I started to drift into a nice sleep when Ash stood up quickly.

"Ash what's wrong?" I said standing up slowly. His back was to me, he turned around and stared at me with love in his eyes.

"I love you so much Nikki Ever," he said walking closer to me, "you make me doubt every thought that I have ever had! I love that you are so caring and you don't judge me based on my past. You are the only one I truly trust and care for. When I lost my mom you were there with me every step of the way.

"I don't want to leave you alone every night anymore, I need you right beside me. I want you to be my greatest friend, campion and lover. So," he said kneeling down on the ground. He pulled out a little black box and stared at me, "will you, Nikki Ever, do me the biggest pleasure in becoming Mrs. Black?"

I stood there staring at him in shock. I couldn't move, it was like my feet were rooted to the ground. I looked behind him and saw the lights from the city. They spelled out, "Marry Me?" I put my hands over my face as cried.

"Nikki what's wrong?" Ash said moving my hands away from my face.

"Nothing. I love you so much Ash,"

"So you'll marry me?" He said smiling at me.

"Yes," I said kissing him. He pulled away and I saw tears in his eyes.

"You have just made me the happiest man in the world," as if on cue fireworks went off behind us. I laughed at how cliché he was. But he was mine and I couldn't ask for anything more than that.

Was that cute or what?! I love how this story has become more than a normal love story! I'm sorry for all the deaths but they made the characters stronger! What was your favorite part?
