Chapter 7 The Dinner Party (Part 2)

I looked at Ash in shock. He totally planned this, well I can play too, "me and Ash have been going steady for about a month," I said looping my arm around his. I looked up at him and blinked with a small smirk on my face. I almost laughed at Ashes face.

He was looking down at me with wide eyes and his mouth was open. He was about to say something, but I tugged on his arm. I stood up, "I have to talk to Ash for a minute," I said looking at everybody at the table. They all had shock expressions on there faces, I quickly grabbed Ashes hand and we walked up to my room.

I pushed Ash in and closed the door behind me. He ran his fingers through his hair, "why did you do that Nikki?"

"Do what?! Save both of our butts?!" I asked him suddenly getting angry

"No! Nikki, why did you pretend that we're dating?" He asked

"I was just playing along, when your dad asked me that question I looked at you and I thought you planned it!" I said not quite meeting his gaze.

"Why would I pretend to date you?!" He whispered yelled, "I would never, EVER date!" He closed his mouth instantly. I looked at him in shock

That hurt. I knew that Ash was never going to date me, but just hearing him say it hurt me. For some weird reason? I step back from him and turned away, "good to know that I'll never have a chance," I mumbled.

I reached for the door handle, "wait Nikki, that's not what I meant," I turned back to him

"Then what did you mean, Ash?!" I asked him fighting back tears that were going to spill out any second now

"I meant that me and yo-," I cut him off

"We'll never date! Yeah I kinda figured that out by myself Ash, thanks though!" I opened my door and walked downstairs. Dinner was already cleaned up, everybody was in the living room talking to each other. I walked in and sat by my mom

"Are you okay, sweetie?" My mom asked me whispering in my ear. I quickly nodded my head, because I knew if I said anything the tears would come out

"So Nikki where's Ash?" Mr. Black asked me I looked up as opened my mouth but was cut off by Ash walking into the room, "I'm right here," he sat across from me. He looked at me with sadness in his eyes. I got up, "I'm going to get dessert," I left the room quickly

I let out a long breath of relief to leave that room. I opened the fridge and grabbed the cake that me and my mom made earlier that day. I set it on the counter and bent down to look for some bowls and forks

"I'm sorry," a voice came from behind me. I jumped in surprise, I hit the counter with my head and looked up to see Ash trying not to laugh. I stood up quickly, "it's fine. Whatever," I said pushing past him and into the living room. I gave everybody there cake

I realized that Ash never came back into the room. I grabbed every bodies bowls and went into the kitchen to see the back door wide open. I placed the bowls into the sink and walked over to it. I looked out side to see a light coming from outside. I looked behind me, and walked out the door.

It was cold outside. I heard a twig break and I looked behind me to see that I was far from the house. I shivered, but continued to walk to that light. I heard voices as got closer.

I bent down and was hidden by a bush. I could see at least 5 men, "give it to us!" A strong voice came out of the middle of the circle

I heard a low laugh, "now where's the fun in that?" Ash! I looked and saw him in the middle of the circle with a tall, lean man that looked about 20ish.

"Stop messing with me boy! My patients has reached its end! Give me it!" He man yelled. Ash put his hand on his chin like he was thinking of an answer
