Chapter 20 Nightmares

Ash's POV

Days have passed since we got Nikki back. She was still in the hospital and I'm still sitting next her holding her hand. But I can't help but feel her slipping away from me every single day.

I felt somebody poke my cheek. I groaned in response. They poked my cheek and I opened my eyes, holding my head up with my hands.

"Hey," said a voice from behind me. My head snapped to the side and I couldn't see anyone in the room with me, "Ash," it said again I shot out of my chair and looked around.

I heard some laughing. But not deep sinister laughing, it was more of a giggle? I looked towards Nikki's bed and saw her looking at me with a small smile on her face.

Relief rushed over me as I ran back over to her. I grabbed her hand and kissed the top of it, "hey princess,"

"Princess?" She said, her smile growing wider.

"Yeah. Princess," I said smiling with her. She looked absolutely beautiful. She did have a few scars on her face still, but I didn't really care. She was kidnapped and abused, but she is still here. Fighting.

"What day is it?" She asked closing her eyes again. I cupped her cheek, and she opened her eyes. We gazed into each other's eyes.

"November 10," I said in a low whisper. I saw the shock and confusion in Nikki's eyes, "you've been in a coma for about a month," I said letting go of her face.

"I'm going to go get a nurse and tell them your awake," I said walking out of the room. Nikki didn't say anything as I left, she was lost in her thoughts.

I walked out and saw Nikki's parents, Gwen, Charlie, and Felix in the waiting room. Felix was the first one to spot me.

"What's wrong?" He asked. Everyone looked over to me and waited for my news.

"She's awake," I finally said. Nikki's mom started crying from joy and I could just tell that everybody was relieved, "Felix?"

"Yeah?"

"Come with me," I said walking out of the room. I waited for Felix, he soon came around the corner and looked at me in confusion, "it's about Nikki,"

"What about her?" Felix asked stepping closer to me.

"She's different....." I said rubbing the back of my head.

"Different how Ash?" Felix said in a warning voice. I saw the fear, confusion and anger in my friends eyes, "she was put through the most traumatic thing that could ever happen to person!"

"Just go talk to her, she'll talk to you," I pleaded. Felix didn't say anything to me, he just pushed past me and ran down to Nikki's door.

I hope this works.

Nikki's POV

I laid in my bed waiting for Ash to return. He seemed uneasy, almost scared. Suddenly the door opened taking me away from my thoughts.

"Nikki," said the voice from the door. They stepped into the room and through their arms around me.

"Felix?" I asked in a confused tone. He pulled away and looked at me checking to see if anything was wrong, "are you okay?" I asked him. He stopped looking and looked me in the eye.

"Only you would ask if I'm okay in a situation like this," he said shaking his head and laughing. He pulled a seat over and sat down next to me.

"Now are you okay?" He asked smiling up at me. I nodded my head and closed my eyes, "sunshine?" Felix said. I opened my eyes and he was holding his head in his hands. I sat up straighter.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, Ash just freaked me out," Felix said standing up. He stood up and leaned down to kiss me on the cheek. I smiled at him, "get better soon sunshine,"

"Aye, aye captain!" I said doing a fake salute to him. He chuckled and walked out of the room.

I leaned back in the bed, and closed my eyes thinking about everything that's happened in the last month.

Pain. Unbearable pain. My head was killing me and I tasted blood in my mouth. I couldn't breath and I felt like I was slowly losing control of my body.

I opened my eyes and came face to face with the man that started all of this crap. Sam. And his two little goons Nick and Max Williams. They're all staring at me with a wicked grin on each of their faces.

I looked down and saw blood. Pools of blood, around my feet. I felt like I was going to throw up everything I had left in my stomach. I looked up and saw Sam holding something behind his back, Nick and Max were doing the same thing.

And slowly they all reveled what they had in their hands. Max was holding Gwen and Charlie's head, Nick was holding Logan and Felix's head, and lastly Sam was holding Ash's.

I let out a blood curdling scream and I felt two hands wrap around my body, I squirmed in their grip. I felt someone hit me in the head and drowned in the darkness.

I woke up surrounded by Ash, Felix, Gwen, Charlie, and Logan. Ash was holding my hand tightly and I felt like I was going to throw up.

"Get her a bucket," Logan said in a demanding tone. Gwen rushed to get one and gave it to me. Instantly I let everything in my stomach out. I felt Ash rubbing comforting circles on my back.

I took a deep breath and laid back done on my bed. Ash was still holding my hand and I looked at him then our hands, "I missed holding your hand," he said rubbing his thumb over my knuckles.

I smiled at him and gave his hand a comforting squeeze. He smiled back at me.

"Are you okay Nik?" Logan said. I looked over at him and instantly started bawling. His face changed from concern to alarm instantly, "Nikki what's wrong?!"

"Sam....," I hiccuped out. I felt Ash's hand get tighter around mine, "I just can't forget what happened," I said trying not to breath properly.

"And we don't expect you to," Felix said, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger," I laughed a little bit at him.

"Did you really have to bring Kelly Clarkson into this?" Charlie asked

"Hey, don't hate on Kelly!" Felix said poking her on the nose. Her face turned to disgust and she wiped her face dramatically.

"Okay, everyone out," Logan said pushing them all out the door. Ash looked up at me and smiled. He leaned in and kissed my for head, "I missed you Nikki,"

I closed my eyes, "I missed me too," Ash pulled away from me and just laughed, "I missed you too Jerk," I said winking at him.

"Love you," he said walking to the door, "nipple," he said winking and closing the door behind him.

I just shook my head and laughed at him. Nikki Ever is back, and here to stay!
