Chapter 20

Third person's pov

The scene was chaotic as Taehyung continued to beat Sunghoon, his fists connecting with raw fury. Sunghoon’s loud groan of pain drew Taewon’s and Hyunjae’s attention and they broke the eye contact.

Hyunjae, seeing Sunghoon, shouted, "YOU!" and without hesitation, joined Taehyung in beating him.

"DIDN’T I TELL YOU THAT IF I SEE YOU AGAIN, YOU WON’T SEE THE NEXT SUNRISE?" Hyunjae screamed, his rage rising. His IV line kept pulling at his arm, irritating him. Frustrated, he ripped it off, causing blood to start flowing from the puncture site.

Jungkook, terrified, shouted, "Hyunjae, stop!" and rushed to try and pull Hyunjae off Sunghoon. Hyunjae, however, was relentless, raining down punches on Sunghoon’s already battered body. Taehyung, equally enraged, continued his actions, ignoring the pleas around him.

Jungkook felt faint, his vision blurring as he tried to intervene. Soohyun and Heejin also struggled to pull Taehyung away, their voices pleading for him to stop.

"Appa! Please stop!"

"You are literally going to kill him please stop!"

Taewon, realizing the situation was getting out of control, had already called the guards.

When the guards arrived, they forcefully separated Taehyung and Hyunjae from Sunghoon, who was barely conscious at this point. Hyunjae kept trying to break free, wanting to inflict more harm. "Let me go!" he yelled, his eyes wild with anger.

Jungkook cupped Hyunjae’s face, trying to calm him. "Baby, I’m fine. Eomma is fine. Please, st-top."

Hyunjae, panting heavily, finally noticed a thin line of blood on Jungkook’s neck. He panicked, his eyes widening in horror. "Blood! You’re bleeding!"

Hearing the word "blood," Sujae and Taehyung also rushed over, their faces filled with concern.

Heejin, still in shock, turned to Taewon. "How does appa know him?

Taewon was too busy in his thoughts to reply to anyone," Mrs. Park—Jungkook—is Hyunjae’s mother? How does appa know Jungkook? And why was Hyunjae in the hospital?"

Hyunjae, still in a state of shock, examined Jungkook's neck with trembling hands. "Doctors! Come quickly!" he shouted, his voice loud.

Taehyung, his eyes teary and red, asked softly while breathing heavily, "Jung-gkook, a-are you okay?"

Jungkook looked at Taehyung, his breath catching in his throat. Taehyung was sweating badly, his knuckles were slightly bleeding and his breath was fast. He couldn’t take his eyes off him.

And before he could even try to respond, Hyunjae, his own hand bleeding, shouted, "DOCTORS! IS EVERYONE DEAF IN THIS HOSPITAL!" right now Hyunjae’s only focus was on Jungkook and only Jungkook.

Jungkook’s gaze shifted then from Taehyung to Hyunjae to Sujae, who was crying, then finally to the hallway filled with doctors, nurses, ward boys, and curious patients. His mind felt like it was about to explode from the overwhelming confusion and fear.

Doctors arrived and led Jungkook to the examination room, bringing him back to his senses. He lay down as Dr. Lee started to check the wound on his neck. Meanwhile, Taehyung tried to follow, but Soohyun grabbed his arm.

"Appa, who is he to you? Why did you do it?" she asked with teary eyes.

"I will explain it later. I have to check on him," Taehyung said urgently.

But Heejin stepped in front of him,  "No, appa, talk to us. Is he the one you’re in love with?"

Taehyung looked torn, wanting to go after Jungkook but unable to ignore his children. "I’ll tell you later—"
