Third person's pov
As Hyunjae hung up the call, Taehyung stood in stunned silence, at first he was in denial and then it turned into panic.
He tried calling Hyunjae multiple times, but there was no response. Desperation set in, and he started dialing Jungkook's number, hoping for a miracle, but Jungkook wasn't answering either.
"Please answer!" He muttered but nothing happened.
"Dammit!" Taehyung cursed under his breath as he bolted down the stairs, nearly tripping over the last few steps. His mind was racing, filled with the thought, "I can't lose him again." He sprinted towards the key rack, his heart pounding in his chest.
Taewon and Heejin, alarmed by their father's frantic state, got up from the couch. "Appa, where are you going?" Taewon called out,
Taehyung didn't respond, frantically searching for the car keys. "Where are the car keys?" he shouted,
Taewon stepped closer, trying to calm his father down. "Appa, what's wrong?"
Taehyung ignored the question, his frustration mounting. "Where are the keys!" he repeated, louder this time.
Heejin was worried seeing Taehyung's expressions and she quickly said, "Eonni went to the store to get some stuff just now."
Taehyung let out a loud curse, his eyes darting around the room. Without another word, he ran to the front door, slipping on his slippers hastily. He glanced around and spotted his old bicycle propped against the side of the house. It wasn't the ideal mode of transportation, but it was the only option available.
After all something was better than nothing.
He threw one leg over the bike and started pedaling furiously towards the airport, his legs pumping with a mix of adrenaline and desperation.
The wind whipped through his hair, but all he could think about was Jungkook. "I can't live without him!" he kept repeating in his mind, urging himself to go faster.
With Jungkook..........
Meanwhile, in a car heading towards the airport, Jungkook sat beside Hyunjae, his nerves on edge. "Where are we going?" he asked, his voice filled with confusion.
"Airport," Hyunjae replied, his eyes focused on the road ahead.
Jungkook's eyes widened in alarm. "Why? Are we going somewhere?"
Hyunjae shook his head, trying to reassure him. "No, don't worry. It's just the final test."
Jungkook nodded, though the worry didn't completely leave his face. The car ride was silent. Soon, they reached the airport. Hyunjae parked the car at a distance where they could see the entrance clearly.
"Stay in the car," Hyunjae instructed, his voice firm yet his expressions were soft.
Jungkook watched as Hyunjae got out of the car and walked a few steps away. His heart raced with anxiety. He glanced at the entrance of the airport, then back at Hyunjae, who stood with his phone in his hand, looking around intently.
With Taehyung..........
Taehyung pedaled faster, pushing himself to the limit. Suddenly, he hit a bump, lost control, and crashed to the ground. He winced as he felt the sharp pain in his knee and tasted blood on his lip.
His trousers tore, revealing a bleeding knee, but he didn't care. Gritting his teeth, he picked himself up, grabbed his bicycle, and started pedaling again.
As he reached the airport, he spotted Hyunjae standing near the extrance. Taehyung skidded to a halt, abandoned his bicycle, and sprinted towards him. He grabbed Hyunjae's shoulders, his eyes wide with panic.
