This year’s spring in Liangcheng came much later than in previous years.

After the spring snow melted, the temperature was still cold. In winter and spring, the water level of the Yangtze River is low, revealing the mudflats in the middle of the river. There seems to be a hint of green on the river islands, which is better than nothing.

In the city, the sycamore and willow trees have not yet sprouted, and are bare, the last breath of winter.

On Friday afternoon, Li Jungkook  was supposed to get off work at 5:30. He was not on duty this weekend and planned to go back to Jiangcheng to visit his family.

At 5:20, the police received a call saying that someone had abandoned a suspicious item in Baixi Mall and told the salesperson that it was the explosive. The salesperson became more and more scared and quickly called the police.

Li Jungkook  and his colleagues rushed to the scene to evacuate the crowd. When they cleared the mall and set up a cordon, the fire department, criminal investigation department, and explosion prevention department also arrived.

Led by the person who called the police, the criminal police and firefighters quickly went to a trash bin next to the escalator on the second floor of the mall.

Li Jungkook  did not follow him up, but stood at the escalator on the first floor and watched from a distance.

Someone pushed him from behind. Policeman Xiaojia raised his eyebrows and pointed to the second floor: “Go over there.”

Li Jungkook  scratched the back of his neck and slowly walked up the escalator.

On the second floor, police officers from various police departments stood a few meters away from the trash can to discuss how to deal with the situation. Li Jungkook  took a look and saw a black plastic bag stuffed in the trash can, and the object inside was a cube.

The surveillance video of the mall was quickly transmitted to the criminal police’s mobile phone. In the video, a man in black wearing a hat and a mask quickly walked over, took out the things in the bag and threw them into the trash can before running away. The tracking surveillance showed that the man quickly left the mall.

Xiaojia poked Li Jungkook ’s arm and asked, “What do you think?”

Li Jungkook  said: “It must be fake.”

His voice was not loud, but the detectives heard it and turned around with a somewhat unhappy look on their faces. Perhaps they felt that he, an auxiliary police officer, was overstepping his authority.

The explosion-proof officers from the criminal police team were fully armed, wearing explosion-proof helmets and armour, and came over carrying tool boxes.

Seeing this, the policeman Xiaojia asked Li Jungkook  in a low voice: “Hey, you used to be…”

“Everyone please be quiet at this scene!” the criminal police officer just now shouted.

There was complete silence.

Policeman Xiaojia shrank his neck.

Li Jungkook  said nothing. He just watched the explosion-proof officer walk to the trash can, unlock it, and take out the black plastic bag.

Li Jungkook  thought, if it were him, he would not touch the bag first. He would cut the plastic bag open and observe the situation inside before taking the next step.

Thinking of this, he felt a very fine tearing pain in his ears, like a piece of paper being slowly torn. Then, his head started to hurt, and his ears began to buzz and ring.

Li Jungkook  turned around and pressed his palm against his forehead, trying to control himself without making any sound.

Just then, someone held his hand.

Xiaojia pulled him away.

After leaving the mall, a cold wind blew over him, and Li Jungkook  sobered up a little. His head still ached, but at least his ears stopped buzzing.

“Are you okay?” Xiaojia asked.

“It’s all right.”

Xiaojia asked him to go to the car to rest for a while. Li Jungkook  was about to go over, but he heard someone next to him say, “The reporter from Liangcheng TV has gone up.”

He looked back, thought about It, and then involuntarily went into the mall again.

When he went in, the bomb disposal officer had already taken off his thick protective suit. He unpacked the item and found it was a plastic box filled with several bottles of kerosene. It didn’t even have a basic fuse, so it couldn’t even be ignited, let alone explode.

The so-called bomb was just a false alarm.

A female reporter and her colleagues were reporting on the scene.

Not Song Lisa .

Li Jungkook  remembered that with her current status, she should not be required to interview such small news in the city.

He smiled faintly and turned to leave, but was stopped by the criminal policeman just now: “Comrade!”

Li Jungkook : “Hmm?”

The detective’s tone became much better: “How did you know it was fake just now?”

Li Jungkook  said, “A bomb needs a way to detonate. In addition to direct ignition, a detonation device is needed. From the way he placed the bomb carelessly, we can rule out the use of a balance sensor; he didn’t hold anything in his hands, and the bomb didn’t explode after the crowd was evacuated, so we can rule out remote control; he pretended to flee in a hurry, but the bomb didn’t explode half an hour after he left, so it’s obviously not a timer; in addition, I suggest that the explosion-proof soldier cut the plastic bag first and then move the bomb next time.”

The detective was speechless.

Li Jungkook  nodded slightly as a polite farewell and went downstairs.

Xiao Jia caught up and exclaimed, “Hey, A-Jungkook , were you the blast-proof soldier before? Or are you more powerful in the military than this?”

Li Jungkook  said that he was just child’s play in front of me.

The words came to my lips, but no words came out.

During his lunch break, Song Lisa  went to the hospital to see a psychiatrist.

A week ago, the doctor discovered that she had secretly increased her medication dosage and forced her to reduce the dosage.

The side effects of the weight loss medication were obvious. Song Lisa  was listless all day and couldn’t sleep well at night. When people are tired and sleepy, their emotional threshold is easily lowered. Various negative emotions come easily.

She had no choice but to run to the doctor for medicine.

Dr. Liang refused to give her more and chatted with her for a long time, successfully making her fall asleep. She woke up from a nap, but she didn’t get any more medicine and was kicked out of the clinic by the doctor.

When it was almost time to get off work in the afternoon, Xiaoqiu and her friends came back from outside and talked about the news. They said there was a bomb threat at Baixi Mall. Some antisocial person threw a fake bomb in the mall.

Song Lisa  didn’t care and returned to her seat and turned on the computer.

The computer was still starting up, Xiao Xia came over and whispered, “Hey, I saw Shen Jennie’s ex-boyfriend today.”

Song Lisa  thought about it for a while before she realized who her ex-boyfriend was. She wanted to explain, but she had no position to do so. She just said, “How did you meet him?”

“Baixi Shopping Mall. Strange, how come he became an auxiliary police officer?”

Song Lisa  couldn’t say that he wasn’t, so he said vaguely, “Maybe it’s because of the intensity of the work and safety.”

“That’s true.” Xiao Xia said, “Bomb disposal and the like, sounds cool, but it’s dangerous the moment you think about it. … But, I guess it must be because he became an auxiliary police officer that Shen Jennie looked down on him.”

“What’s wrong with the auxiliary police?” Song Lisa  frowned, “Did Shen Jennie tell you that?”

“No. I guessed. Otherwise, why would such a nice guy become my ex-boyfriend?”

“What if he doesn’t like Shen Jennie?”

“Shen Jennie has a good family background and is beautiful, what is there for him to dislike? If they don’t break up, they can still rely on nepotism. As for becoming an auxiliary police officer?”

Song Lisa  suddenly didn’t want to talk to her anymore, so he turned his head and moved the mouse to open his email.

Seeing this, Xiao Xia also went back to work.

Song Lisa ’s work email address is public so that he can collect news materials.

However, more than half of the Daily Mail’s messages were not work-related – some expressed their love and support for her, some criticized and scolded her;

As for work-related matters, many of them are not feasible, such as her husband cheating on her and she is expected to report the mistress, she is expected to investigate when she is fined by the traffic police, and there is a thief at home but the police can’t catch him…

Song Lisa  had previously responded to the woman whose husband had cheated on her, telling her family to resolve the issue and that she couldn’t report it. Unexpectedly, the woman replied: You don’t care about the mistress, but you’ve been a mistress yourself, right?

She replied to the person who was robbed, saying that he should patiently wait for the police to investigate. The feedback I got was: That’s right, only things like wars where people die can attract your attention, so we, the little people, don’t bother you to worry about it.

After reading the reply email, Song Lisa  was speechless.

At this time, a new email popped up in the mailbox. The sender was Wang Han, a student at Baixi Experimental Middle School. Wang Han said that just now, a boy named Zhu Yanan in their school committed suicide by jumping off a building because he could not bear the long-term private insults and corporal punishment from his teacher.

Now the police have blocked the school and also blocked the news.

Song Lisa  had a feeling that the matter was not simple, so she immediately called back to find out what was going on.

Wang Han is a boy who speaks in a low voice, is very flustered, and has poor logic in his speech, but the content he described is basically consistent with what was written in the email, and the events are very clear.

He begged: “Reporter Song, please come and take a look, otherwise the truth may be buried forever.”

After hanging up the phone, Song Lisa  checked the internal platform.

Wang Han said that Zhu Yanan jumped off the building a quarter of an hour ago, but the internal platform has not received any clues from informants or the public. It is really strange.

Song Lisa  thought for two seconds, put on hee bag, stood up and went out.

The middle school is not far from the TV station, just across the street. Since it is far from the main road and school is over, the street is very quiet. There are dead trees on both sides of the road, which looks a bit desolate.

Sure enough, there were several police cars and ambulances parked in front of the school, and a cordon was set up.

Song Lisa  showed her press card and tried to go in, but was stopped by the police: “Sorry, according to the order from our superiors, reporters are not allowed to interview.”

Song Lisa  asked: “Why? Even if we can’t investigate the truth?”

“Once the police have thoroughly investigated, they will naturally announce the truth. You are also welcome to attend the press conference then.”

Song Lisa  felt more and more that something was wrong, but she did not argue. She stepped aside and observed the terrain, and saw a six-story residential building next to the school.

She thought about it and went into the corridor.

A middle-aged woman lived on the sixth floor and was reluctant to let Song Lisa  borrow her window at first, but she let her in after Song Lisa  said she would pay her for clues.

Song Lisa  walked into the balcony of the middle-aged woman’s bedroom, which gave her a clear view of the school building and the open space in front of it. The body of the student who had jumped from the building was still in front of the building, covered with a white sheet, and the cement floor was covered with blood.

Police investigated and collected evidence near the body and on the roof of the teaching building.

She was filming when she heard a commotion behind her.

Two policemen came in, their faces serious and cold, waved their hands and said, “Delete what you just filmed.”

Song Lisa  hugged the camera tightly: “Why? What law stipulates this?”

Another person yelled: “Just delete it if I tell you to. Why are you talking so much nonsense?”

Song Lisa  bit her lips in humiliation, her face flushed red.

The first police officer also said angrily: “You journalists write nonsense all day long to smear the government’s credibility.”

Song Lisa  refuted word by word: “Public credibility relies on restoring the truth, not concealing or deceiving.”

The other party was too lazy to talk nonsense with her: “Do you want to delete it yourself or should I delete it?”

Song Lisa  refused to hand over the camera, and the other party came up and snatched it away.

Song Lisa  struggled to push the other person away and wanted to run outside, but was tripped by the person behind her and fell to the ground. The camera rolled out and hit the feet of another person who came from outside.

The man bent down to pick It up, and Song Lisa  immediately climbed up, opened her hand, snatched the camera and held it in her arms.

“Reporter Song?”

A voice came from above his head. Song Lisa  looked up in panic and found it was Li Jungkook .

He was a little surprised and reached out to help her up: “What happened?”

“Officer Li…” When Song Lisa  saw that it was him, she whimpered. She couldn’t help but grab his sleeve and hurriedly hid behind him and refused to come out.

The two policemen came forward and said, “You know each other? That’s great, talk to her and ask her to delete the photos. We are also in trouble because of the order from above, right?”

Li Jungkook  looked back at the people behind him.

Song Lisa ’s eyes turned red, she grabbed his sleeve and elbow, choking, “I don’t want it!”

Li Jungkook  looked at his two colleagues and said, “She is a reporter. It is her right to film and report. Wouldn’t it be counterproductive to force deletion like this?”

My colleague Xiao Yi said: “We have been ordered by our superiors to inform the reporters after the situation is fully investigated. This has happened too many times before, and reporters’ random writing has made it difficult to control public opinion. We also have our reasons.”

“She wouldn’t write nonsense.” Li Jungkook  said confidently, “I know this reporter very well. She is different from others.”

The two colleagues usually got along well with Li Jungkook , so they couldn’t help but give him face, saying, “Then you should talk to her. Otherwise, if something really happens, you and I will both be responsible.”

“good.”

Li Jungkook  excused himself to the residents on the sixth floor and closed the door.

Song Lisa  stood in the corridor, head down and said nothing.

Li Jungkook  asked, “Are you not injured?”

“No.” She shook her head and showed him her palm. “I just wiped my hands.”

The edge of her palm was bruised and scratched.

Li Jungkook  took a look, lowered his head and rummaged in his pocket, and took out a Band-Aid.

He said, “Put your hand over here.”

She reached out silently, and he tore off a band-aid and put it on her. The girl’s hands were thin and soft, and it seemed like they would melt when he pinched them.

As he stayed close to her, he glanced at her face calmly.

Her little face was pale, her eyes were drooping, her eye circles were a little red, her lips were lightly pursed, her little nose was also slightly red, and her nostrils were flaring slightly to control her emotions.

He knew she was wronged.

Li Jungkook  said softly, “My two colleagues are good people. They may be a little impatient. Don’t take it personally.”

Song Lisa  said nothing, her expression clearly showing that she was upset.

He knew she would not be able to recover for a while, so he asked, “How are you going to write it?”

Song Lisa  said: “I haven’t thought about it yet.”

Li Jungkook  said, “Just report that this happened. As for the cause of death, don’t jump to conclusions before the police issue a notice. Minors and students can easily cause an uproar.”

Song Lisa  didn’t know whether he heard it or not, and just said “hmm”.

Li Jungkook  observed her and found that she was still a little upset. He wanted to comfort her a little more, but someone called him downstairs: “A Jungkook !”

He had to go down, feeling a little uneasy, and said, “I’ll go first.”

“Um.”

After walking down a few steps, he turned back and reminded her : “Be careful on the road.”

“good.”

Li Jungkook ’s footsteps quickly disappeared in the corridor.

Song Lisa  picked up the camera and saw a small crack on the camera casing.

Just as she walked out of the corridor, Xiaoqiu called and said that something happened at the Experimental Middle School, and the leader of the station asked her to investigate and record the truth.

Song Lisa  went online and saw that some news media had reported the case of a student from Experimental Middle School jumping off a building.

Absurdly, many media outlets and so-called whistle-blowers claimed that the student who jumped off the building was under too much pressure from his parents and suffered from long-term depression. The poor performance in the monthly exam became the fuse, and he finally jumped off the building to commit suicide.

“You commit suicide if you don’t do well on the exam? There’s no point in living for such a person. It’s better if he dies.”

“You blame your parents for putting pressure on you because you are useless. Your parents might as well have raised a pig in the past 17 years.”

“Everyone who commits suicide deserves to die. There’s nothing to be sorry about. It’s a waste of attention.”

Song Lisa  exited the social platform, put her phone in her pocket and walked back.

A cold wind blew and my cell phone vibrated. It was Wang Han.

He was so angry that he cried on the phone: “How could they say that about Yanan?”

Song Lisa  made an appointment with him in a coffee shop where there were few customers.

Just as Song Lisa  imagined, Wang Han was a quiet, thin boy with a soft voice and lack of confidence. He was the most inconspicuous and ordinary person among the students.

Wang Han’s eyes were still red and swollen, and he reiterated what he had written in the email.

Song Lisa  repeatedly confirmed the details and found that his answers to Zhu Yanan’s private experiences were clear in time and events, and were consistent and true. Several times, when he talked about the details of the humiliation, he lowered his head and covered his face and could hardly continue.

Song Lisa  asked: “Why were you there when the teacher was scolding and punishing Zhu Yanan?”

Wang Han raised his head and trembled, “Because the teacher also beat and scolded me, Zhu Yanan and I were together. He called us pig-brains and morons, and asked us to kneel down and admit it…”

It turned out that he and Zhu Yanan were both students in Grade 3 (3), and Zhao Yuanli, a special teacher, was their class teacher. Because their grades were so poor, they always lowered the class average, so they had been subjected to long-term abuse and corporal punishment from Teacher Zhao.

Wang Han wiped his tears and pulled up his sleeves to show her: “Reporter Song, I really didn’t lie.”

There were large bruises on his elbows.

Song Lisa  was surprised: “Did the teacher hit you?”

“If you want to see more, I also had it on my waist. The teacher kicked me and I bumped into the corner of the table.” Tears rolled down his eyes. “It hurt so much that I almost died. The teacher was still scolding me. Not only did he scold me, he also scolded my parents. The scolding was very ugly… Zhu Yanan was the same.”

“I have evidence here.” Wang Han showed her his phone, which contained a WeChat conversation between Zhu Yanan and Teacher Zhao.

Zhao: “Don’t come to school. I get angry when I see you!”

Yanan: “Teacher, please…”

Zhao: “There are dozens of students in the class, how come you are the only one who can’t learn well? Why go to school if you don’t have a good brain? Go back to your parents and ask them how they gave birth to you!”

There is also a video of a few seconds, which is very chaotic. In the video, someone is pushed and knocked over the table. It must have been recorded by a mobile phone accidentally. In the video, the boy screamed: “Stop hitting me!”

The voice In the video is not Wang Han.

“This is Zhu Yanan, he sent it to me before. He also has it on his phone, the police will definitely see it.”

Song Lisa  said nothing, surprisingly calm, and she handed him a tissue.

Wang Han took the tissue and wiped his tears. He hunched his shoulders, feeling humble and ashamed, and sobbed softly:

“I wanted to die, but Yanan is dead and I’m scared. Reporter Song, he was an excellent teacher, but the director of the teaching department didn’t believe us at all. I went to report him, but he scolded me for making trouble. Please help us. Yanan has been abused since he was a senior in high school last year. He was forced to death, not like what people say on the Internet.”

Song Lisa  took a breath and said, “First, hand over all the evidence in your hand to me.”

Song Lisa  and Wang Han said goodbye at the door of the store.

After Wang Han left, Song Lisa  stood in the night for a long time until her teeth chattered and her legs trembled. She looked at the night view of Liangcheng and suddenly realized that this was also an invisible battlefield.

She wrapped her scarf tightly and walked home, with all kinds of emotions surging in her heart, unable to suppress them.

She walked to the convenience store and bought a bottle of water. She unscrewed the lid at the door, took a big gulp, then took out an antidepressant from her bag and put it in her mouth and swallowed it.

She called Xiaoqiu and asked her to come to her house tonight to help organize the materials and write the manuscript.

Xiaoqiu rushed over to help her enter the text, pictures and audio materials.

At 11 o’clock that evening, Song Lisa  finished writing the manuscript “Another Voice (Dialogues with Students of Baixi Experimental Middle School)” and posted it on major public platforms.

After all, she knew how to restrain herself. She did not say that the teacher was directly related to the student’s death, nor did she express any subjective opinions. She just compiled her conversation with the student Wang into an interview transcript, and recorded it truthfully and without exaggeration.

Before publishing it, a thought flashed through my mind: should I tell Li Jungkook  about it?

But she didn’t.

After the release, she didn’t read the follow-up and just took sleeping pills and went to sleep.
