The midday sun hung high over the bustling streets of Auckland as I navigated through the city's lively energy, my mind preoccupied with the impending arrival of my dear grandmother for the royal ball. Dressed in a simple outfit suitable for travel,a pair of sunglasses and a hoodie to hide my face i didn't want anyone noticing who i was. I found myself standing outside the airport terminal, a small smile playing on my lips as I anticipated her arrival.

As I glanced around, searching for any sign of her familiar figure among the arriving passengers, I noticed a commotion a few feet away. A group of travelers was clustered around, seemingly lost in the maze of terminals. Among them stood a tall, handsome young man who appeared just as confused as the others.

Curiosity got the best of me as I took a few steps closer, trying to catch a glimpse of my grandmother while also keeping an eye on the unfolding scene. The young man caught sight of me and approached with a slightly furrowed brow.

"Excuse me," he began politely, "could you point me in the direction of the nearest exit? These signs aren't as helpful as they claim to be."

His request caught me off guard, and I hesitated for a moment, what if he could recognize me i doubt that tho. I was torn between helping him and continuing my seach  for my grandmother. "Um, sure," I replied finally, pointing towards the exit signs with a small smile. "It's that way."

He followed my gesture and nodded appreciatively. "Thanks. These airports always manage to confuse me."

I chuckled softly, finding his honesty endearing. "Tell me about it. Are you here for business or.......?"

He shrugged nonchalantly. " Mainly business, really."

Before I could respond, a voice called out behind me, and I turned to see my grandmother making her way towards us, a bright smile lighting up her face as she recognized me. "Laura, my dear!" she exclaimed, moving in for a hug.

I returned her embrace warmly, momentarily forgetting the young man beside me. When I turned back, he had taken a step back, his expression thoughtful yet distant. He  offered me polite nod, as if acknowledging the abrupt end of our conversation.

I nodded back, a hint of regret tugging at me as he began to walk away. I should've asked for his name.

He glanced back over his shoulder, a faint smile playing on his lips.

With that, he disappeared into the crowd, leaving me with a lingering sense of intrigue and a faint smile.
