The next day, the sun shone bright and warm, casting a golden glow over the mansion. The cast had decided to have a barbecue, and the excitement was palpable. Everyone was bustling about, getting ready for the afternoon's festivities.
I woke up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, the memory of Malachi's kiss still lingering on my lips. I smiled to myself as I got dressed, choosing a bikini and covered it up with shorts and a pull over button up that matched my sunny mood.
Downstairs, the kitchen was abuzz with activity. Freya was busy marinating chicken and steak, while Malachi was setting up the outdoor grill. The aroma of sizzling meat and fresh herbs filled the air, making my stomach growl with anticipation.
"Hey, Laura! Come here i want you to met a few people," Sway called out, her hair tied up in a ponytail and a apron wrapped around her waist.
I joined her outside, where the rest of the cast was busy setting up the patio. We had invited a few friends over, and the atmosphere was lively and festive.
As I was chatting with Sway and the people she had introduced me to, Milo came over, a bundle of tablecloths and napkins in his arms. "Hey, Laura! Can you help me set up the tables? I need someone like you with exceptional decorating skills," he said with a grin.
I laughed and playfully rolled my eyes. "Exceptional decorating skills, huh? You're just trying to butter me up, Milo."
He chuckled. "Maybe a little. But seriously, I need your help. I don't want this to look like a mess."
I smiled and took the tablecloths from him. "Okay, okay. I'll help you out. But only because I don't want to be responsible for your decorating disasters."
Together, we started setting up the tables, Milo chatting about his latest script ideas and me offering my input. As we worked, I couldn't help but notice Malachi watching us from across the patio, a small smile on his face. I felt a flutter in my chest, and I quickly looked away, focusing on the task at hand.
**Malachi's POV:**
As I watched Laura and Milo setting up the tables, I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. This barbecue was exactly what we all needed - a chance to relax and have some fun together.I had invited my friends Stone and his girlfriend, Jasmine, and they had arrived just a few minutes ago. Stone was chatting with Milo, while Jasmine was introducing her friends to the rest of the cast.
But then, I saw her. Brittany. My ex. I hadn't expected her to be here, and my heart sank as I watched her laughing and chatting with Jasmine's friends.
We had a history, Brittany and I. A complicated one. We had dated for a few months, but it had ended badly. She had cheated on me, and I had been left reeling.
I hadn't seen her since we broke up, and I hadn't expected to see her here. I felt a twinge of discomfort as she caught my eye, a smug smile spreading across her face.
I looked away, focusing on the grill and the food. I didn't want to deal with Brittany right now. I just wanted to enjoy the day with my friends and Laura.
But as the afternoon wore on, I couldn't help but feel her presence. She was everywhere, laughing and flirting with the other guys. And I couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy.
Why had Stone brought her here? And why did she have to be so damn beautiful?
**Luaras POV:**
As I was chatting with Freya and Milo, I noticed a girl watching us from across the patio. She was stunning, with long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. And she seemed to be staring straight at Malachi.
