Seonghwa's POV
For a whole week, I didn't hear anything from Hongjoong. In fact, I didn't see him.
Throughout the entire week, i would go every day to the river to just bask in the sunlight , hoping that he would show up and maybe chat with me.
Without how frequently I was leaving the house, Mingi and Yunho had not questioned anything. Yunho, the angel that he is, had even asked if I needed anything while heading to the forest, since he assumed that had been part of my travelling list. I had rejected his help, since that would have been really greedy of me and settled with what I had.
It was Monday of the second week since the discovery of the tree house, and I was in the forest, sitting cross-legged on the huge rock while jotting down some ideas in a notebook that i bought recently. I had to think about the next steps to take.
Creating a map of all the items that had led me to finding the house, I started to get a feel of what had led me here, closer to the palace.
The first item had been the mask that my mother had given me. The black handmade mask that i had brought along in this journey, I had not worn it at all as it was quite old. My mother;'s diary did not have a description of the mask, nor any information relating to the ball, apart from writing that her parents wanted her to go.
It was quite strange that her parents wanted her to go since, the original Cinderella's dress got ruined just before her stepmother was about to leave for the ball.
However, I was sure that based on the story my mother had told me, the existence of the fairy godmother was undeniable. But there was no evidence to support that: no name, no address, no nothing.
The same information I had about the witch, too.
The second item is the dairy, which has been a huge help ever since I found it in the library of my mother's hometown. It gave me an insight of my mother's life, something that she avoided speaking about since she had cut them off once she married my dad.
I felt closer to her even after all the years of her passing, a feeling that I had not felt in a long time.
The last note was just a basic background of her mother's family, since she had not met any of the family member s from her side.
Understandable, as my memories from the funeral day, they had not showed up to pay respects.
The last item being the new box that I had not been able to open at all.
My thoughts swirled in my mind, and I was hoping that a solution will come from the information I got, after all i need to escape the cruelty my mother had to go through her death. And what my future children, if i ever found someone, will have to suffer. .
Suddenly an idea pooped into my head. The common factor that helped me when I felt lost was going to the library. I need to schedule a library visit and maybe see if there were books on the history of the city.
But the royal library would have been a better choice, as they help every form of literature. But since I had no way of knowing how to get there and get a pass for the library, I knew the search will soon end.
Unless...
I stopped the thought as soon as it pooped through.
I didn't like the idea of attending the ball, since that would have been the next step that it was destined for me. It was inevitable that I would have met my destined partner to leave with until the rest of my life.
If it was necessary for me to attend to get access to the library.
I huffed a sigh and decided to focus my thoughts on nothing. I wanted to clear my head of all the thoughts on the curse that clearly had brought a lot of misery .
After a while, I headed back home earlier than usual. It was lunchtime when I arrived at my temporary house.
Opening the door, I was greeted by an unusual sight. Yunho, my personal saviour, was dressed in comfortable clothes, feeding Mingi with some chocolates. They both had a lovestruck face, in which it made me feel a bit queasy.
The brought their attention to me , once they heard me closing the door, greeting with smiles, asking if my trip went well and so on.
I politely answered back , and made my way upstairs to change into another cloak and comfortable clothes . I didn't reveal my face at all once I got settled here and made sure to shower at the early hours of the morning before napping again and then waking at a normal time.
It became a routine that the other two men didn't question, as they respect my privacy. Since it wasn't harmful for their relationship, as they will have time to shower together, it was a win-win situation for me. .
I came back downstairs with them still eating the chocolates affectionately. Making my way to the living room and grabbing a book from the shelves; i made sitting down to read .
I was pulled away from the book i was reading, when i felt the sofa dip . i looked up to see that Mingi had joined the seat and Yunho was following closely behind with the remote.
"Do you want to watch a film?", Mingi asked.
I remained a silent for a minute, contemplating if that had been a good idea, after all the book was good.
I agreed, since it had been a bit of time that i didn't spend time with the two men.
Yunho chose a film, then gave the remote to Mingi before going back to get a few snacks: popcorn, crisps , mini slated pretzels and cheeps puffs.
The film that played in front of us was called the RoundUp. Mingi explained that the actor had previous been it two film that had blow up due to ho good of an actor he was, and that was the sequel to a previous film. .
"You know Train to Busan ? ", Yunho asked,
I nodded slowly, acting as if i was just recalling the actor.
"Well the guy who punched through the zombies , is the character played a cop to get rid of some gang in Vietnam"
The film played out and in the corner of my eyes I could see that Yunho was tentatively looking at the screen. He was engrossed in the drama, but Mingi had his phone in his hand, letting a small puff of air as he laughed.
I looked back to the screen.
It was amazing to think that I was able to live a good chunk of my life without some sort of entertainment, as the days in which the madame will go were far and few. Thinking back, I should have prepared myself to enjoy the days without her instead of doing chores.
Mingi let out an excited squeal which startled me from the action, the main character had just found a lead to the criminals.
Yunho had asked him to explain the squeal, curious about what had made Mingi so excited.
There was a fair downtown , that one of his friends just posted d about. He begged Yunho to go, and they invited me, to which i agreed to join them; quickly changing , I put on my cloak and a small bag with a bottle of water and a small snack to eat.
I joined them in the car, after making sure that the main door was closed.
And drove off.
