Chapter 44

Narrator's POV

    After the small disagreement, that ended up being subdued by Yunho's words, Yunho made his way out of the palace with the intention of heading straight to his house. Since his car was at the repair centre , he had to use the trusted taxi system of the city to make it home on time.

     It wasn't easy being the assistant to the prince. If the prince was being called but was currently busy, he had to go and act on his behalf. Thus , never ending is shift on time, but he was lucky today.

    The journey was slow. Traffic was rampant as it was time for most school kids to get dropped off or for office workers to make it home to finally have a home cooked meal. However, Yunho didn't find it irritating, instead he used the time to plan. By the time he arrived at his house, the clock had just ticked past 5 PM.

    This is way earlier than expected, knowing that he would have enough time to talk to Seonghwa. They had a mission tonight, and it was time to finalize their plan.

   The familiar gate and pathway leading to the door felt comforting, and as Yunho stepped closer, his thoughts turned to Seonghwa. They had a mission tonight, and it was time to finalize their plan.

    Just as he reached for the door, it swung open to reveal Seonghwa, his face lighting up with a soft smile. However, Yunho's attention was stolen by the leaping body of joy that Mingi was. He jumped into his arms with his usual greeting, a few kisses on Yunho's cheeks.

Yunho let out a laugh of adoration and reciprocated it with a kiss on the lips as a reward.

   Our poor Seongwha was subject to their affectionate side on a daily basis. He had grown used to it, being the third wheel since staying at the house, but he couldn't admit that some part of him was yearning for that type of love. Maybe with a certain someone. A small blucher creeps up his cheeks. Despite his embarrassment, he couldn't help but smile faintly at their bond.

    With greetings exchanged, Seonghwa returned to the sofa, where he and Mingi had built a cosy nest of blankets and pillows. In front of the small fort, on the IKEA bought table, there was an assortment of snacks: popcorn, crisps, mini pretzels, nachos with American cheese and cheese puffs. A mug of each tea and peach flavoured gelatine cubes sat beside , half empty.

    Seonghwa sat down comfortably, grabbing a bowl and then holding his half finished drink to his lips.

    Mingi dragged Yunho to the small soft nest, insisting him to join in. Yunho was hesitant, worried about making a mess of the structure of the fort and about the fact that he still needed a shower from the work sweat.

Mingi stopped at his excuse, replying with a sultry look and matching tone.

"You know I like you sweaty"

    The comment caught Seonghwa mid-sip of his tea, which went in the wrong throat, having to spit out and cough to save himself from dying. Mingi hurried to grab him a glass of water, continuously apologising for the sudden thirstiness of his words.

    Seonghwa quickly recovered, quickly drinking the water in sips and banging his chest for the remaining water to go down. He waved Mingi off, clearly unaffected by the whole situation.

    He wasn't going to make him upset when there was nothing to be upset about. They had accommodated him though his journey, it wasn't the first comment ever made in his time. However, this proved that he wasn't used to their attics but still fond of it nonetheless.

    The three settled down to continue with the Judge from Heaven, munching and slurping away. As the drama played, Mingi set himself in between Yunho's arms, met with protests from him, but it all quickly ceased with a quick kiss on the lips. It wasn't the kiss that had worked , but the bright smile after the kiss that had made Yunho so soft.

He really loved him, and he was glad to have him as his husband at his side.

    About halfway through the fourth episode, the bell rang, bringing the attention of the three men away from the screen. Mingi excitedly got up from the comfortable position to get the door. He exclaimed with PIZZA as he walked away.

    Seonghwa went back to the TV that was still playing until he heard whispers of his name. He looked at the direction of the whispers to see Yunho smiling at him.

"I got the things ready for the mission. We can talk about it later once Mingi gets into food coma nap "

Seonghwa nodded in confirmation.

    Mingi got back with food, which consisted with Korean chicken soup and some side dishes and the pizza he mentioned.

     Yunho was a fan of pizza, but they knew that Seonghwa had eaten home cooked food most of the time that they had spent time together , since he was used to his on cooking .

     Seonghwa decided to sit on the floor, to get to a better level to eat, and the couple followed, dragging the next down with them. They each got comfortable, Seonghwa getting his side dishes arranged and the couple cutting up the pieces of the pizza in the sides they wanted.

     The episode kept playing as they ate and 3njoyed their food, the couple feeing each other bites of the pizza, Mingi had passed out on Yunho's shoulder , snuggled close for warmth and safety.

Seonghwa was dozing from slightly as well, words from the drama going in an out of his ears.

    Yunho, the only one awake, gently called Seonghwa's name in a low whisper to avoid waking Mingi. Seonghwa stirred, sitting up and meeting Yunho's calm gaze.

"I've got everything ready," Yunho said, "Clothes, tools, gas bombs, pepper spray, and glasses to block laser sensors. I've also mapped out the building, marked the easiest routes, and found a reliable escape plan."

Seonghwa nodded, the nervousness sipping into his bones.

"You can back out now, you know. No pressure," Yunho offered, his tone gentle.

"No regrets," Seonghwa replied firmly, giving Yunho a small smile. "I'll see this through."

Yunho smiled back, offering an encouraging nod.

"We'll go over it again later tonight once Mingi's out for good."

     With that, they returned to their spots. Seonghwa now fully awake as his mind tried to get a sense of how the mission , reminding himself that everything will be fine as he wasn't doing this alone. He had Yunho who clearly knew what he was doing.

     Soon, he defeated all worry as he tried to make sense of the situation, having trust in his friendship with Yunho. Getting his attention back at the drama.
