Narrator's POV

The signal came in sharp, it was time for Plan B.

Captain Jongho was already moving, as soon as he felt the slight pulse at his wrist.

"Alert the guards," he ordered, voice low but commanding. "They triggered Plan B."

A ripple of tension spread through the command chamber. Monitors flickered to life as rune-coded protocols surged into place

"Track their coordinates," Jongho said, sliding into his PC. "San's communicator is transmitting the signal , we should be able to get his position"

"Sir, it shows the Underground grid zone."

"Underground, you say?" Jongho muttered, scanning the project map. There was no sig of underground tunnels unless it belonged to eh old structure of the palace.

He activated the emergency channel. "This is Captain Jongho to all mobile units. Distress signal confirmed. Mobilize two rescue squads. Heavy warders only. Prepare breach and extraction spells. Priority One:recover Yunho, Mingi, and San."

Everyone knew what Plan B meant.

Something had gone wrong. Terribly wrong.

Jongho stood, fastening the last buckle of his armour. "I'm going down there myself."

Black-armoured vehicles tore through thick jungle paths, engines growling, weapons loaded. The road was unstable, half-swallowed by nature. Magical plants alive but dormant.

"How far?" Hongjoong asked from the front vehicle.

"Not much left , sir" the driver said. "But it's rough terrain. Those plants..."

"They won't kill unless you touch them," Jongho said from the back.

The vehicle stopped in front of a cave.

"This is it," Jongho said, stepping out. His boots crunched soft dirt as he approached the yawning cave mouth.

Hongjoong followed.

Before he could enter, Jongho raised a hand. "Your Highness."

Hongjoong arched an eyebrow.

"Let me go first. I'll take three inside and signal if it's clear."

"I'm not made of glass, Jongho."

"No. You're the one we need to protect the most for the future of the country."

A beat. Then a sigh

Jongho disappeared into the cave, three guards close behind.

The rest waited outside , with the deafening silence surrounding them. Then the signal came. Jongho's ping on Hongjoong's communicator.

Hongjoong tightened his cloak, checked his blade, and gave the signal. "Move. Half team guard the rear. Cover the entrance. Prepare for fallback."

The squad entered in silence, moving like shadows.

Hongjoong caught up to Jongho quickly, finding him standing beside a jagged stone wall.

"What is it?"

Jongho pointed to the tracker. "Signal's right beyond here. But there's no door."

Hongjoong placed a hand on the stone.

"Magic. It's cloaked."

Hongjoong stepped back, drew his blade, and slashed.
Nothing.
Again.
Still nothing.

Then he struck hard.

The wall cracked. Splinters of light split across the surface. The entire false wall collapsed inward, dust spiralling into the air.

The space revealed was a vast, arena-like chamber, lined with ancient runes. The same space they saw their enemy .
