Seonghwa's POV

Since the ball, which was two days ago, I had been hiding out in the house. Nothing much changed apart from the amount of time spent outside.

I went on about my daily tasks and made sure that everything looked good in the house. It was a coping mechanism to calm my heretic heart down, that jumped every time the doorbell rang.

After the fiasco, the last thing I wanted was to get arrested. Leaving my stepbrothers behind, who I already considered family along with my dad, in the clutches of my stepmother who clearly would push them to their limit until breaking point.

The doorbell rang , sending me flying through the air, dropping the plates I was washing in the process.

I sighed in relief once I heard Yunho's voice coming from behind the door, concern leaking through.

Dried up my hands, before rushing to open the door. After checking through the peephole, of course.

Yunho had a weird expression. He greeted me with a small smile, but the slump in his shoulders and the slow pace as he entered the house gave away that something was bothering him. And if that was enough, his eyebrows were furrowed toward the centre of his forehead.

What made him so worried?

I guided him to the sofa and went to prepare a drink.

I looked back at his figure, a relaxed picture on the sofa but no smiles or acknowledgement of my presence, as if in his own world.

Once in the kitchen, I go to work.

Heating up some of the coffee that we had already brewed in the morning, I added some milk to it as it started to boil. In the meantime, I got a plate to hold two small cinnamon rolls, in which I drizzled with a bit of golden syrup. The water became hot as I saw the small bubbles forming and poured it into his favourite mug, matching the set with Mingi. Some whipped cream sugar and marshmallows. The treat was good to go.

I placed it on the small table that the couple had recently bought about a week ago from IDEA DELIVERY. They might as well sponsor the amount of items they purchased from there.

I sat down by him, keeping silent. As he made no move to grab the treats . I grabbed his mug and placed it in front of him. At the whiff of the coffee drink, his hands reached for the warm mug and I quickly followed with the cinnamon rolls, and he proceeded to the one.

He munched on it slowly, a sigh escaping once he took the first sip.

I kept him entertained before asking him.

"What's worrying you so much?"

He looked at me. Steam coming from his cup, lips decorated with foam and crumbs at the corners. He seemed to have an internal battle before settling into a final decision. He must have made up his mind as he put down the mug and turned his body towards me.

"So", he took a deep breath. "I needed to get a book, like a VERY important one. And I need it for a meeting about 7 days later , I think, on a Wednesday. But I got double booked with late shifts at my work. Therefore, I have no time to get it and I need permission to get that book since it on the sealed library at the royal palace"

A moment of silence.

"However, it takes 2 weeks and more to get the required permission. The boss requires it for a specific project that will make or break it for the company", His eyes met mine, "I've asked every colleague that I could find, but no one was willing to help me. So could you ... please ... stealmethebook?"
