Hanni

I felt dread as we walked up to the door of my house. My palm sweated against Minji's palm, but she don't mind it much, if anything she held my hand tighter.

"It'll be okay, I won't let her do anything to you. And don't worry about me okay, I'll be strong for the three of us." She said placing her hand over my belly, giving me her toothiest smile to try and cheer me up a bit, and it worked, she's so dorky.

She pulled away and knocked on the door, squeezing my hand. The door was opened with my mother speaking. "Hanni, did you forget.." she froze upon seeing Minji next to me, but then her eyes narrowed at our connected hands.

"Hello, Ms. Pham, we've come to talk to you about something important." Minji said, she looked mad serious, it was clear she wasn't going to be messing around with my mom.

"To begin with, how dare you come to my doorstep, freak?!" She yelled as she looked at Minji with mad eyes. Minji's jaw only tightened. And then she looked at me.

"Secondly, what are you doing holding her hand?!" My mom was about to reach for my arm and fear consumed me in that second. But next thing I knew, Minji pulled me behind her gently, successfully dodging my mother's grasp.

"Don't, Ms. Pham. I came here so that I wouldn't let Hanni tell you the news alone. So if you may excuse us, we need to talk. And also, don't you dare to touch a single strand of Hanni's hair." Minji challenged my mom and I felt my heart racing.

"And who do you think you are, to threaten me?" My mother asked as she took a step closer to Minji. "I'm the woman who loves your daughter, that would do anything in her power to keep her safe even if meant from her own mother. I'm not scared of you, Ms. Pham." Minji said.

Minji stood her ground against my mom. Minji was never scared of my mom for herself, she was scared of her for me. She didn't want my mom to hurt me.

My mom let out what seemed to be a snarl as she stepped to the side, throwing daggers at Minji as we made our way past her in to the house. I led Minji to the living room feeling a little giddy at finally being able to have her in my house.

"Honey! Who's at the door?..." My father's  voice fell as he saw Minji's hand intertwined with mine. He didn't say anything, but it was clear he wasn't fond of what Minji and I had going on. At least he was a little more respectful.

"Dad, we all have to talk." I simply said as I sat Minji down on the couch, sitting next to her. My dad looked over at my mom who stormed in to the living room, as he sat down on the couch beside us. My mother sat down on the single chair there as she crossed her legs and looked at us both.

"Mom, promise me to not explode once I tell you." My mother let out a scoff as she looked away from me. I looked over at my father who was just staring at Minji, I had no idea what he was thinking off.

Minji then looked at me causing me to look at her, she gave me that same smile that took all of my worries away, always making me smile too. I took a deep breath and looked back at my parents.

Here goes nothing.

"Mom, Dad, to begin with, I know it was wrong to hide this from you two but I had no other option..." I looked back at Minji and my heart skipped beats.

"I'm in a loving relationship with Minji." I looked over at my mother who let out a gasp of betrayal. "You're what?!" I looked over at my dad panicked but he seemed to have no emotions at the moment.

"What in the world are you thinking, Hanni?!" My mother's yelled made me flinch but having Minji's arms wrap around me took away the fear I felt. My mother looked at the gesture on disbelief. She looked over at my dad who was now looking away.
