Waking up with a throbbing headache, I reach for the medicine the nurse prescribed me and take a sip of water.

Squinting my eyes to adjust to the harsh lighting of my phone, I check through all of my emails when today's date catches my eye.

The 18th of June. Wasn't that some sort of special day? I couldn't remember.

I scrolled to last year's 18th of June through my gallery of photos and landed on a picture of me, Usagi, Kuina and Ann together posing beside a birthday cake.

Someone's birthday, that had to be it! But whose?

I rolled over to my side and watched the sun rise from my window, reminescing about the times when I was mountain climbing with my dad.

It was so lonely and desolate in this hospital room, it was just wake up, eat medicine, be checked by a nurse, stare at my phone and fall asleep.

Sometimes I would text Arisu but he's always asleep at the most unearthly times, Kuina dropped her phone down the stairs and it broke and I don't have Ann's number.

"All done Kuina-san, make sure to rest your neck and let it heal naturally" the nurse explains before placing my dose of medication on the beside table and shutting the door gently.

Today was Ann's birthday and I absolutely couldn't wait to celebrate it with her and the others!

I slowly got out of bed and took a small stroll to Usagi's room to inform her about the plan of events today.

I knocked on the wooden door and heard Usagi shuffling a bit before the door opened.

"Kuina, your supposed to be in your room!" she exclaimed in shock.

"If the nurses catch you, you'll be strapped to the hospital beds for a lifetime!"

I scoffed and rolled my eyes.

"The nurses wouldn't even care, now let me explain the reason I came here in the first place".

"Arisu! Open the door already, it's been five minutes!"

I stared at the ceiling while hearing the voice of someone that's definitely not my nurse threatening me to unlock the door for her.

It's not that I was in pain or anything, it's just I was about to fall asleep too.

Maybe this person would give up if he ignored them for a little longer..

"Arisu we have something important to tell you for fucks sake, my patience is running thin!"

The thumping and knocking on my door was getting louder by the second so I stumbled out of my bed and swung open the door to see Kuina and Usagi.
