Claire x Reader (Request)

DAY 4

A/N- Reader and Claire are aged up, but not by much. They are like 18- 20ish. They live together. Also in this we pretend the Trollhunter movie did not happen.

(Y/N) P.O.V.

Me and Claire have a pretty simple and noncomplicated relationship. She goes out to train and go on adventures during the night and sleeps during the day. I go to work and school during the day and sleep during the night. Dawn and dusk are the best times for us to go on dates and spend time together. But I know that training has been very strenuous and long recently I don't expect us to have much time together this morning. In that same thought I want to still do something nice for her, so she still feels like I'm thinking of her.

So here I am. Up and awake at 5 am cooking pancakes (and bacon and other stuff) so she can eat and go to bed full. And of course, I am trying to be all fancy and flip it in the pan, no flipper. I take the pan off the stove and toss the pancake in the air. I try and catch it...

SPLAT

"...Oops" I look down and see the batter splattered on the floor. Quickly I clean it up and start the next pancake. "Maybe I shouldn't try that again." I chuckle. I continue to cook and slowly create a stack of pancakes.

Suddenly I feel arms wrap around my waist. Smiling, I keep my eyes on my cooking.

"Hi darling." Claire grumbles in response. I look at the clock. "what are you doing home so early? I thought you said you wouldn't be back till 7.

"Blinky and Jim ended training early." I hum in response. I move away from her so she has to let go. Claire stands there still. I go to the cupboard to grab her a plate. I come back and transfer 3 pancakes from the stack and hand her the plate. I lean in and give her a kiss on the forehead.

"Syrup is on the table." Claire gives me a weak smile and a peck on the cheek before going to the table. She sits down and eats. I stare at her lovingly for a moment the go sit beside her with my own stack.

It's moments like this that I treasure most. The quiet moments where we can rest and just be to be together.
