Ch 11 Beginning of the night

*Liz's POV*

This was really close. I was sweating that Ben caught me alone in the forest, a good thing that Pedro was not with me. I knew we had to tell Ben at one point, but I was not ready for him to find out now. Even right before the big recruitment party he would just think that I'm stealing his night. I texted Pedro and let him know that we need to cool it for now. He read it but did not reply. I owe him big time later and for sending cryptic text messages. Liar Liar pants on fire my wolf spoke to me. HA HA very funny I exclaimed back. My wolf knows that I mean well it's just that my brother doesn't need to know everything I do. Besides he has his own secrets too, I heard him talking to a female late at night maybe his mate? If anything, I will push the focus on that so that he will be in the hot seat. I heard a Buzz come through on my phone. It was Pedro asking me to come back to the castle as my mom was looking for me. That's odd that my mom is the one looking for me considering she has not once asked to speak to me in the past 2 years. She thinks I'm out partying all night and recklessly spending money. She even went as far to say I will be coming home one day with a fatherless pup; I mean with Pedro but she does not know that we are mates and that he is going to be my husband one day. I pick up the pace and head back towards the castle, getting in a quick shower before I meet my mother. I mindlink her that I am going to shower and will meet in her chambers. I let the water hit my skin and my eyes roll back as I let out a tiny smile on my lips. I love warm showers after being out all day in nature, it just makes me feel better. As I close the water faucet I then begin to put on lacy panties and a matching purple bra. One of my favorite sets, Pedro agrees too. I then put on a robe and headed to my mom's chamber.

"Honey you should have put on more clothes before meeting me here. It is improper to be walking around the castle with half of a towel' Mom says. I roll my eyes and reply, "Mom! It's a robe and I need time to prepare for tonight's ceremony." Mom raised an eyebrow then said," as you know tonight is a big night. Your brother will be picking a mate tonight. If not, you will be in line for the head Alpha of the pack". Wow this is big news. I know my brother was looking for a mate, but it was shocking that if he does not I am next in line. "Mom, I understand my duties, but I think Ben is still better suited for this role mate or not. I hope you can see that". My mom stood up, "Honey I understand but there is tradition that has been withheld since the beginning of time with our Moon Goddess. Without this we would not be a pack or succumb to the Moondusk pack. We must be strong". My mom did have a point. But I did not want to run the pack nor did I want Moondusk to enter into our territory. "I understand. If need be I will step up, but I want you to know Ben is still the most equipped." Mom smiled before giving me a hug. I understood what this meant she is just doing what is best for us. After her omega called her name, she left the chamber. I sat down a bit longer and texted Pedro I have something to tell him later. What can I say, I need to be around him even if Ben is suspicious. I got up and went back to my room. Time to get dressed for tonight and I only had 1 hour left. I went into overdrive with the makeup, hair and my dress. I had a beautiful coral dress with a pearl necklace and matching coral eyeshadow and a nude lip. I loved pink and all the forms and variations of pink. The dress was free flowing and cut with a slit going up my thighs. Just then I was thinking about Pedro and what he would do if he saw my slit. I then head down towards Ben to see if he needs help. This is going to be a fun Evening.

*Betty Joyce's POV*

I was just at May's house getting ready for the big party and recruitment ceremony. I Quickly texted Ben a pic of May getting dressed and Lilly putting on her makeup. I don't know why he wants to keep tabs on her, but I hope he keeps his end of the bargain and protects her in his pack. "Isn't this overkill? Lilly how much products are you using on my face," Said May. Lilly laughs then replies, "as much as I need. You need to trust the process and let me do my magic". Lilly had a way with makeovers that made you feel happy with the way you look and always made the person look good. I could see the pink shimmers and gold on May's face with highlighter and red lips. She had the most beautiful bronzed skin and glitter all over her body making her ample bosom shine brightly. She had her hair curled in tight ringlets and added a crown of braids to her hair. She then removed her robe showing her gorgeous dress we picked up yesterday. "OH MY GOD May. You look so HOT!" I said. "Come on Betty J this is too much! Too many people will be looking at me" May said and grabbed her white shawl. "THAT IS THE POINT! My work is meant to break heads" Lilly exclaimed. I laughed while Lilly grabbed my hand. "Your turn" she said as I ended up in the vanity chair. May was reading on her bed books about Alphas, but our school library had little to no knowledge with the books we had. She closed the book and proceeded to scroll on her phone. 30 minutes later Lilly was done with me. I had straight blonde hair with silver tinsel clip ins, a silver and black cocktail dress and thigh high boots. "Wow even I want to bang you" yelled May. I laughed then threw a pillow at her, "you wish" I said. Once Lilly was done getting ready, we all took some selfies and piled in my BMW. I quickly texted Ben that we were on route before heading towards the Sundance grounds. As we arrived, we found parking and headed inside. Let the night begin.

*May's POV*

We arrived at this huge castle that looked like it belonged in Cinderella. As we walked up to the entrance, we were given wristbands with our names on it and a number. Probably to keep track of the recruits for this pack. There were over 1000 wolves in attendance including anyone from the ages of 16- 19. Everyone was dressed up so nicely that I made me cover up what I was wearing with my shawl. Once we headed inside, we were sent on a guided tour through the property. We saw the guest rooms, kitchen, various omega jobs for serving the Alpha and the Library. It is here. Stop here Said my wolf. I did not know what it meant at all, but I knew we had to get in the Library. "Hey Mr. Tour guide" I said. "Uhm its Pedro" he said back. "Me and my girls need to use the washroom we will join back on the tour" I said shooting a smile. I grabbed Betty and Lilly who both shot me confused looks while the tour continued, I brought them in the library. "Guys, my wolf said something is in here. Maybe a book we need to look for it" I said explaining fast. "What are we looking for exactly?" Said Lilly. Not sure I shrugged and closed my eyes letting my wolf guide me. I walked towards what seemed like stairs and climbed up. Little to the left. This is what you are looking for. My wolf said to me. I opened my eyes holding a copy of a book that seemed to be about half-blooded Alphas and their lineage. I hold it up to Betty and Lilly who are cheering and smiling, I place it inside my purse and make it back down the ladder, this time with my eyes open. "May! I never seen you climb like that especially in combat class you did it so seamlessly!" Betty said amazed. I never really felt a difference, but I think my wolf has awoken some of my abilities. "Let's go, we can test my combat skills later" I said laughing. And off we were to the main garden where the recruitment was just about to begin.
