Ch. 19 Pack Run

*Betty Joyce's POV*

After hearing May and how Ben had been treating her, I had to speak to him. I was super furious that he would use his Alpha dominance against her and right before the wedding let her know he is using her for her powers. It was around 1am when I finally got Lilly and May to sleep, we spent most of the night talking about what has been happening and how she can fix this. I texted Ben that I was on my way over. No reply. That did not matter, I was going to wake him up and give him a piece of my mind. I got to his door, and it was locked. No matter I always carry a bobby pin and that is all I need to pick a lock. After a good 2 minutes the lock clicked, and the door creaked open. I went in and closed the door behind me, there was Ben fast asleep in bed. They say never to wake a sleeping wolf, it might get ugly. I was able to grab a ball off the floor and with all my might I chucked it at his head. THUD... OUCH "WHAT THE FUCK WHO IS THERE!" Ben growled. He got out of bed and ready to attack. I was able to use my speed and power to strike him down. He looked up and met my eyes knowing why I was here. "What gives you the right to belittle May. Better yet what gives you the right to breathe angrily? ANSWER ME" I roar back. He gets up and chuckles. "Is that what she told you? She is a liar and is working for the Moondusk pack her parents are from there!" Ben replied. So that's why he's Angry with her? He thinks he knows the truth. Only partially since her parents were killed by the Moondusk and her father is actually under the Sundance pack. How could he not hear that detail. Something is not adding up here. "Ben, believe me when I say she is not working for the Moondusk pack. I cannot say her truth as it is her story to tell you. Cut her some slack telling her she deserves to be bullied is just heinous, You are cruel" I said. "How dare you talk to me like that! Just like her you are lying too. I trust you since you have been hired to be my detail. Did you tell your precious May about that too? The lying and stalking. Hypocrite" he said back. I could hear the hatred in his voice, all I needed is that Ben tells May, and she will never forgive me. "May knows the truth" I lied to him. He smirked and said, "Oh really? Then I am sure would be fine with dealing with only you from now on, her most trusted friend. No more are any of my Omegas going to help her. She will be a Luna with no rule. Want to exile her more? Keep talking. Now get out of my room!" I could not believe how unreasonable he is. How could one conversation strike hate in his heart. "Fine, I will leave but know that you are wrong. I will always protect May and I was hoping you would too" I said before storming off. How dare he be a piece of shit like this. Goddess, I needed to run to clear my head.

I headed towards the door and took off sprinting, I had to get away from this toxic place! I made it through a clearing and found the most beautiful sky. I laid down in the sweet grass and let the morning dew touch my skin. It was so peaceful, I just drifted off to sleep. BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ I opened one of my eyes to see daylight pouring on my face. It was so peaceful. I looked down to see my phone ringing. "THANK THE GODDESS YOU ARE ALIVE! WHERE ARE YOU!" Lilly screamed in the phone. I looked at the time to see that it was close to noon. I had the best sleep in this clearing. "Lilly I am okay! Meet me in the first clearing now. I will explain everything" I said. I stood up to stretch taking in the morning view, it was not long until Lilly Rae and May were walking into the clearing with coffee in their hands. "Betty J! I thought you were missing that the hell happened?" asked May while extending a cup of coffee to me. "I am fine, sit down and I will tell you everything" I said. Both girls sat down while I recapped the night of my breaking and entering. May was laughing. I think she got used to how mean he is, it was nice to see she was in good spirit. She was relieved that I was her only security detail since she trusted me. I felt bad I keep lying to her. Time to fess up. "May, do not get mad at me but during our high school day Ben hired me to keep an eye on you and I been providing updates to him and pictures before he knew you were mates. I know you might hate me for it, but I am sorry" I told her. "Wait, so the mystery man who I kept seeing on your doorstep that I thought was your cousin was actually him?" She asked. I nodded my head yes. She was laughing "Betty, I could never hate you, I know you did it with the best intentions the fact that he was trying to use it against you to turn you on me is funny!" I love May so much that she is so forgiving, I pulled her in a tight hug. She was right Ben could not break our bond no matter how hard he tried. This is the time we need to band together, and support May especially before she marries him. We spent some time in the clearing before going to May's room and getting dressed. Since last week we have been moved to the other quarters and are so far away it is hard to get to our items. May loves us so much that she keeps extras for us, so we always have a home near her. We pass Ben in the hallway, and I shove him with my arm as we walk on by. He deserves to be bullied a bit. "Betty, I love when you are rebellious," said May. "Only for you" I said then winked. I looked back to see a furious Ben, I blew a kiss in his direction and giggled with my girls. He lets out a huge roar as we make it around the corner. We make it back to her room and get ready, tonight is the pack run and only if you are willing to many of the members are going to let their wolf run. May is expected to be there and I have to take her there myself. I been told by Jordan who mindlinked me. Let's see what tonight holds.

*May's POV*

We were all getting ready for the pack run. Everyone was in their running clothes once the run is done the ones who are going to turn are going to meet in the clearing where some Betas have clothes waiting. I know that the future Luna is expected to turn but I cannot show my wolf to Ben. He will know 100% something is off and confirm his allegations that I am a half-blooded Alpha if he sees my wolf stature. I feel bad for my wolf not being able to run around but she will understand. I got into my yoga pants and bra with a matching sweater. "Let those girls breathe" said Lilly Rae who undone my sweatshirt. Out came my bouncing bosom. I couldn't hold it in we were dying laughing the bounce on those things are deadly. I did just what she said and let my girls go free. I am sure Ben will be furious to know my cleavage is on display. We make it downstairs and into the main clearing where there are many pack members waiting. I spotted Ben in the crowd who was shocked when he saw me. He mindlinked me Put on your sweater now. Your whole tits are on display for everyone to see, this is not Luna behavior. I knew this would bother him! I smirked then replied, I can do what I want, this is my body. If you don't like it look away, I then bounced up and down a bit so he can see them jumping in the moonlight. Ben looked furious. "Damn May, you are really pissing him off," said Jordan. I laughed, "he deserves it especially after this week. Tell your friend to mind his own business" I told him. Jordan laughed, "I am not getting in the middle of this, but I think if you two make up then we can all be at peace". Before going back to Ben, he turned to Lilly and threw her the biggest smile. It is so cute that he is showing his affection to her. Everyone was warming up for the pack run. This is the biggest event monthly before the full moon tomorrow where everyone will be partying in their wolf form. "Everyone, on your marks run within the lit path, if you are turning meet in the clearing and lets have a good pack run" said Ben. We all rolled our eyes before starting to run. I made my way through the first clearing and could feel the moon on my skin. My wolf was begging me to be free, I was suppressing the urge already. I could see Ben in the distance looking for me, I think his wolf wanted to run with mine for a while. I take the chance and hide in the bushes near the clearing. If I kept on running, I could feel my wolf was going to pop out and I did not want anyone to see her. They would know right away from my size that I am different. From the side of the bush, I could see Ben transform he mindlinked me, but I did not respond, he was looking for me. I could hear him roar loudly, he seemed angry. I made my way back to my room while everyone was still outside partying. I know this will probably be bad for me, but I don't care.

I fell asleep and was awoken up suddenly. "What the hell" I said. Someone was shaking my arms I could feel their body close to mine. "What the hell is right. Where the fuck did you go?" It was Ben. "None of your business" I replied. He was furious. "My wolf was waiting for the first pack run to be with your wolf. Why did you leave? Of course you would! You don't wait for anyone or care about anyone but yourself" he said. I break free from his grasp. "How dare you! I did not want to turn. My choice and I promised I would go to the pack run but did not say how long" I replied. He was pacing back and forth. "May you make this hard on yourself, if you did not have anything to hide why literally hide on the pack run?" he said. "Ben, this may be hard to understand but I do not owe you anything. I will turn when I want to" I replied. He was laughing at me. "Believe it or not, tomorrow is the full moon, and it may be hard for you to understand but you will turn and you will be shown to my wolf in your full form. Until tonight Jordan will stand guard at your door. You are not going anywhere without my permission" he said. I threw a pillow at his face before yelling "TYRANT" at him. He left and I fell asleep. He really got under my skin.
