Ch. 22 Recovery

*Betty Joyce's POV*

I was happy to hear my best friend is alive and doing well. I was super pissed at Ben for all he has done, right now May only needs love when she wakes up and protection. Lilly and I had time to discuss, and we think it's only fair that we will give Ben another chance if May wants that. I gave Ben a couple minutes with May alone before I left Lilly to attend to her. She was adding décor to the suite and making the place brighter, it was her thing and she was good at adding life to a place. "Ben, its time" I said to him coldly. He got up and followed me out of the room, we made it to the south corridor before arriving in his study. Once he closed the door, I let him have it. "HOW STUPID ARE YOU TO LET HER GET ATTACKED! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!" I yelled at him. He looked shocked that I was screaming at him. After some time, he was able to let me know what happened, I couldn't believe my ears. MONA!? ARROW!? That she wolf bitch! If I catch her, I will make her bleed! I was fuming! I thought we got rid of her ages ago. "Ben, it is clear you cannot protect her and from your little toddler stunt there was no security detail assigned to May. It is time you assigned me so I can always protect my friend" I said. It has been discussed before but not in detail. I wanted to be the one by her side and make sure she is safe especially from that she wolf. Ben agreed right away it seemed anything I said he was able to understand. "Ben, I know you are hurting but listen well, do not hurt my friend. She has been through enough and I mean it hurt her again and we all go rouge. I will remove her from your sight" I said. I could see the pain in his eyes. "Betty, you have my word, I am truly sorry. I need to talk to May first, but I agree, you will be her detail effective immediately. Please can I go back to May now?" he said. I moved to the side and let him through after tripping him so he knows I was serious about what I said. I could tell he was trying. All I could do is hope that May recovers quickly and decides if she is getting married or not. I make my way back to the infirmary to see Lilly holding May's hand while she is resting. "Lilly, let's go eat something and come back" I said. She got up letting Ben sit down beside May and we left for the kitchen. "So, did you give him hell?" said Lilly. I chuckled because she knows me so well. "Yes, I agreed to give him another chance granted that he changes his tune and is nicer to our girl" I said. Lilly nodded; I knew she would agree with me. Liz was crying on Pedro's shoulder. I placed my hand on her other shoulder to show my support, her brother is an ass but she is a sweet person. "Come on everyone, kitchen time" I said before ushering everyone towards the kitchen. I had already mindlinked the chef to fix the table and make us a light snack. By the time we arrived there were table settings for everyone. No one wanted to touch the food, everyone was saddened and hoping for May to pull through. "Eat" I said sternly. Everyone looked surprised at me, possibly because I was taking the lead. Eventually everyone took a bite of the food. I could tell everyone was hungry but were focused on the whole attack. "Did anyone see what happened or how it happened?" Lilly said. I paused before I spoke, "Mona and Arrow attacked her and Ben, it was all a ploy for that bitch to get revenge on May for kicking her out of the pack recruitment". Lilly looked shocked. "Whose Mona?" asked Pedro. Lilly Rae and I spent the last 20 minutes explaining to the group what Mona did to May and all the bullying she endured during high school for her size. Not that size mattered because May was beautiful but that Mona was threatened that she was better than her in every aspect. "That wench, if I see her, she will be put on her ass in two seconds" shouted Liz. Everyone showed horrified faces after explaining the ad campaign attack, she did on May, who would strip someone unless you are sick in the head. We had to stay vigilant now and make sure that May does not get hurt again. "I am now, approved by the Alpha, May's security detail as I should have been from the beginning" I said. "No one is better for that job than you" Pedro chimed in. It meant something coming from one of Ben's main details who is highly respected. We spent the next twenty minutes eating before arriving back upstairs to check on May. If I get my hands on Mona or Arrow, I swear on the Moon Goddess that I will make them pay!
