*Ben's POV*

The party was off to a great start. Everyone was enjoying themselves and the party was just getting started. We all just finished moving in May and her friends and deserved a party especially after the month we had. May and I were getting along with our wedding day only a couple of weeks away. I was about to go join in on the fun with the rest of the new recruits when my dad mindlinked me to meet him in the library. I could see that May was concerned when I walked away but I smiled back at her before I took my leave. I turned the knob to the library door and went inside. I saw my father sitting down with tons of old scripts and he looked concerned. "Son, I need to show you something come sit" he said. I sat down across from him and was beckoned to look at the scripts. "I think your soon to be wife is lying to us all". I was furious why he would say that about May. "Now before you get mad, look" he continued. I looked down to see records of our pack and the Moondusk pack. He had highlighted two names, one from each book. "So? It is the pack list from 18 years ago" I said. He furrowed his brow, "Son these are the names of May's parents. Both were shunned by the pack as they were not mates. I knew when I saw her, and I knew nothing of her parents it made sense she is an orphan because of her parents acts" he said. I was shocked to hear. So, May knew about this and did not share it with me? "There is more" father proceeded, "Her mother was an Alpha of the Moondusk pack, and I think May made a deal with the Moon Goddess to become your mate. It might be a lot, but she might be using this as an attack against us for how her parents died". "How did they actually die; is there a reason she would need this kind of revenge" I asked. "Son, I cannot say but be advised that it is just" he said. I was stirring inside. For Father to say that she does not love me and is using me is outrageous. Then again, she is not very forthcoming with information about her life. "Now" father continued, "There is more. Since she has Alpha blood and what we believe is true we will continue with the wedding as she has more power than what you can think of. Half-blooded Alphas when mated give special powers to their mates and this can transfer to the pack. We want the upper hand against the neighboring packs". I could not believe what I just heard he is just using her like everyone else is. Letting her continue when he is accusing her of using me but for the benefit of the pack is what makes me furious. So much so I cannot control the anger of my wolf. "YOU DO NOT KNOW OF THE TRUTH AND YOU MOCK HER!?" I said. My father was standing up, "Son, control yourself I only present the facts and they do not lie. Believe me or not our records do not lie". This is unbelievable! I can feel her wolf, she is not lying to us. We are bonded My wolf was speaking to me in rage. I started to back away from my father. I must talk to May about this especially if we are going to be married. "Ben, please keep this news to yourself do not make an enemy if she is paying for the other side. We need that power she holds." My dad continued. "Father with all due respect, you have NO RIGHT to say this to me and make demands. I will get to the bottom of this!" I said. Before he could continue I ran off. This is a lot to take in. I make my way back to the party and locate May. She was talking with Liz and laughing. There is no way this sweet innocent girl plagued with so much hurt is taking advantage of me. "Hey, May can we go talk?" I interrupted. She nodded and followed me. We made it up to the roof. "So, what did you want to talk to me about?" she said. I paused, "Sorry for being abrupt but I need to know how much you knew about your parents, and their time being at Moondance" He said. I could tell that she was taken back by my question and looked like she was getting hostile. "Why are you asking me things like this! What is going on!" she said. "My father told me about your family history, but I would like to hear it from you. If we are to be married, I need to trust you and my wolf can tell you are lying" he said. I can see tears form in her eyes, she was definitely hiding something, and I was hoping that was not the case. Before she could answer I jumped down from the roof, I could not stand to be near her and my wolf was hurt. I looked up to see her crying from above calling for me to come back. I take off through the clearing in the woods. My wolf form pops out as my claws touch the ground, I can start to feel the anger melting away.
