The Kiss That Could've Been

Furia's Pov

Donnie and I walked into the Kitchen to see Raph practically mauling Mikey and Leo just sitting there. I was about to go and break it up but Donnie stopped me. 

"Its better to let them handle it." He said quietly as he pushed me away from them and towards the table. 

"A-Alright." I said sounding very unsure. I mean are they just going to let Raph hurt Mikey like that. I sat down and I continued to be lost in thought. That's when I realized Donnie was talking to me.

"Oh I'm sorry what did you say?" I said nervously. Donnie smile wavered. "No I mean I was just so lost in thought I'm sorry." I said unsurely. 

"It's fine I was just asking what pizza you'd prefer." He smiled but I can still tell he was disappointed that I wasn't paying attention to him. I needed to make it up to him somehow. 

"Uh what kind are there." I smiled and leaned towards him more. 

"Uh t-there's Mushroom, cheese, or Jellybean." He said nonchalantly.

"Eww Jellybean." I said disgusted. Donnie started to laugh at me. "What's so funny?" I said angrily.

"Ha your face when I said Jellybean was hilarious." He started to laugh happily, showing off his gap. I smiled with him.

"Okay Okay stop laughing at my face." I chuckled. "I'll take mushroom." Donnie stopped laughing and look at me weird. 

"What?" He questioned. 

"Well you asked what pizza I wanted and I want mushroom." I said slowly. 

"Ohhh yeah... here." He put a piece of pizza on a plate and handed it to me. I started to eat, smiling to myself. So this is what it feels like to have a family. I watched as Leo tried to break Mikey and Raph up. I watched as Donnie tried to reach over me to get the other pizza box only to fall onto the ground. 

Leo's Pov

"Guys get off each other!" I shouted trying to pull them apart. I mean this is the fifth time this week.

"Then tell him to stop mauling me." Mikey whined.

"I wouldn't be mauling you if you didn't put that cockroach in my shell." Raph growled angrily, hitting Mikey in the head. I finally pushed them apart and put myself in between them. 

"Guys Calm down." I turned towards Raph. "Get him back later!" Raph push my hand away and sat at the table. 

"Whatever." He mumbled out, taking a bite of his pizza. I peaked at the clock and just as I was doing so I saw Furia get up. 

"Well I'm headed to bed guys. Night Mikey, Leo, Raph, Donnie." She said turning to each of us. And she headed out of the kitchen. For some reason I had a feeling she wasn't going to bed but I shook it off.

Furia's Pov

After I said good night to the boys I walked to the lab. I sighed and closed the slider doors. 

"Alright lets get to work." I said quietly to myself. I had gotten the idea to clean Donnie's lab for him because I felt as if I was intruding on his personal space and because I didn't listen to him in the kitchen. And I wanted to make it up to him. I looked around the room to see most of his stuff put away except for some tools, papers, and projects. The floor had crumbs and oil on it. I could see some old pizza in the corner. There was a pile of dusty books spread across the floor next to his main desk. And lastly most of his picture frames were crooked. I brushed my bangs out of my face and started to get to work. I snuck back into the kitchen, I grabbed a garbage bag, a duster, some sponges, a broom, a bucket of water, and a mop. I sighed as I made it back into the lab without being noticed. I picked up the old pizza and threw it away, nearly losing my dinner in the process.  I picked the books off the floor and neatly put them back onto the shelf. I put away his tools and swept the floor. Next I mopped and started to straighten the picture frames. I dusted them off and hung them correctly when one of the pictures caught my eye. It had an old heart frame and inside it was a picture of Donnie and a girl. I squinted. I needed glasses and I did have some but I was made fun of more when I had them on. I squinted more trying to make the girl a little less blurry. The girl looked really familiar but I couldn't place her. 

"What are you doing." I jumped and nearly dropped the picture frame. I turned to see Donnie standing by the sliding door. 

"Dude stop doing that." I said regaining my composure and hanging the picture right. I walked over to the desk. 

"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you. I thought you were going to bed?" Donnie questioned. I started to neatly stack his papers. 

"There done." I said happily. I saw Donnie look around the room. 

"You clean my lab?" He said astonished. 

"Well yeah I mean I am staying in here and I felt as if I was intruding on your space. So I wanted to make it up to you." I smiled. "Ta da." I heard Donnie chuckle. He walked over and wrapped me in a hug. I gasped at the touch but soon hugged back. I smiled and hugged him tightly. I felt all fuzzy inside. But sadly he let go. 

"Thanks so much it means a lot to me that you would go through that trouble just to do something nice for me." He smiled down at me. I laughed quietly. 

"No problem." I said happily. I looked into his Maroon eyes and he looked back into my indigo ones. I felt as if his eyes were pulling me forward, He started to slowly lean forward and I found myself leaning forward too. He closed his eyes and I did too. I puckered my lips and when I thought our lips were about to meet. I heard the door slide open. I eyes shot open and I took a step back from Donnie. I blushed brightly as we saw Leo walk in. 

"Hey guys just wanted to tell you guys we have an early training session tomorrow so get your rest." Leo said happily and he walked out. 

"Uh N-night Furia." Donnie said quietly as he walked out of the room. I could see him blushing brightly. As soon as I heard the door slide closed I leaned onto the desk for support. My face felt hot and I could feel myself sweating nervously. Did we almost... No we wouldn't have. Ugh who am I kidding we totally could have, its a good thing Leo came in or we would've k-kissed. I don't want to be in a relationship right now. I have too much on my plate. I sighed and walked over to my bed, flopping on it. I set my alarm on my phone and closed my eyes. But throughout the night my mind kept bringing me back to the kiss that could've been.

Donnie's Pov

W-we almost kissed. I gulped. Furia doesn't like me that way, I have to stop imagining it, last time I liked someone and I thought they liked me too, it didn't end well. I mean April still comes around but she doesn't really talk to me as much as she used to. I sighed and flopped on my bed. I had kissed April because I thought she liked me, I mean she kissed me before. But then she flipped out getting angry. She still comes around but she doesn't really talk as much and she seems uncomfortable around me. I can't make that same mistake with Furia I don't want her thinking I'm gross too. I closed my eyes sadly. No girl will ever love me and with that I let the darkness of sleep consume me.
