Lando's POV
I take a seat right outside of this sort of change room where Lacy is currently getting all dolled up.
"No I can't wear that." I hear all muffled through the wall.
I can tell it's Lacy because she has this distinct raspy voice.
"You don't have a choice here Ms. Katz." I hear as a response.
I contemplate going inside of the change room or not.
I know Lacy can handle herself but I need to make sure she's ok.
I can't be the one who's responsible for someone getting hurt.
I can't go through that guilt again.
Fuck just do it.
"Everything ok in here?" I say as I creak open the door.
"What did I tell you? Sit outside while Lacy gets ready." The over optimistic man who greeted us at the door says trying to shoo me away.
"Wait. Lando look what they want me to wear." Lacy says as she grabs onto my arm as she drags me over to this soft pink outfit.
I tense at her touch but relax as her soft manicured hand clenches onto my forearm.
"Do you see how little fabric there is here?" She says waiting for my response.
I did have to agree there was a plunging neckline and the dress was almost see through.
"They can't expect me to wear this." She says as she looks up with me with her doe eyes.
"Lacy you don't have a choice here. This is what we've picked out for you. Besides, you've got a nice figure so why not show it off?" The stupid unnamed man says as he stands beside me.
"I'm sorry I don't remember you being allowed to comment on another woman's body. And besides if Lacy doesn't want to wear this, then she doesn't have to." I say while crossing my arms and furrowing my brows.
I look down at him as he looks around the room as if he is trying to find a script as to what to say.
"Listen, it's a gorgeous dress but I'm just not... very comfortable wearing that. If it wasn't as see through then maybe..." Lacy try's to put it as nice as she can.
That's what I loved about us. I was very direct with how I feel about a situation, and she is always trying to say words to not upset anyone else's feelings.
"Fine. We'll find some kind of alternative." He says as he snaps his fingers at some kind of assistant.
"Mel, I want you to find a dress exactly this shade and style but less sheer." He groans.
"Right away Mr. Veln." She says with her head hanging low before scurrying off to another room.
"I better go follow her. She's not going to pick out the right dress, I just know it." Mr. Veln says before slamming the door shut behind him.
It's now just Lacy and I standing in the small dressing room.
Alone.
The air is tense as I try to avoid her eyes.
Her hair and makeup shines in this lighting from every angle.
"Thanks for helping me not have to wear that dress. I just don't want anymore kind of comments being made at panels and interviews about how I look. I'm tired of being some kind of painting that people stare at but never look past its true meaning."
"Of course Lace. You deserve the world."
"Lace?" She says with a smirk.
"What?" I say somewhat confused.
"You never call me Lace. It's always doll isn't it." She says as she gives me a sly look.
"Don't get ahead of yourself doll. That better for you?"
Before she can reply Veln comes back holding a gorgeous satin light rosé coloured dress.
"Change into this. We're already delayed so hurry up." He says as he motions for me to leave out of the room.
He closes the door behind us and rushes off out to the shoot set up.
I just wait outside of Lacy's door waiting for her to come out.
I hear the door creak open and Lacy pokes her head out to the small hallway with a hand behind her back.
"Lando, oh perfect. Get in here for a second." She says shutting the door behind us.
"Can you zip up my dress for me please." She stands in front of the mirror and turns her back towards me.
Her blonde hair drapes over her back. I delicately brush it over her shoulders so I don't zip it up.
My heart starts to race as I grab the zipper but it won't go up.
I hesitate before placing a hand on her shoulder to hold the dress in place.
Her skin is so soft under my hand and gives off a good amount of warmth.
Her back tenses at my touch as she lets out a large exhale.
I slowly zip it up her back as I take in all of her features.
The way the lighting illuminates her well earned back muscles.
The way her practically golden hair that melts past her shoulders.
The way her hair smells like the beach. The salt air and a hint of coconut.
She turns back around and pushes her hair back.
For a moment everything else fades away and I could only admire her.
Staring into her serene blue eyes, you can just tell they've seen so much, but despite it all they still have this gleam and sparkle.
Everything about her reminds me of the beach oh my days.
Her eyes are like the ocean, and her hair is a mosaic of sand.
Right then and there it's just us.
Staring at eachother.
The world goes still and my mind wanders over the thought of kissing her.
I don't know why but I really want to.
There's a part of me that stops myself.
Dont ruin your friendship.
Fuck it I want to ruin our friendship so so bad.
I take a deep breath in and tense up until the door swings open behind me and Veln walks in and practically grabs Lacy to start the shoot.
She laughs along side him and trots in her heels away from me.
Lando what the hell did you almost do.
