Liams POV:

I was the closest one to being sober.

Yes I had some celebratory drinks but I still had consciousness of everything around me.

I knew exactly where Hayden was.

Over in the corner flirting with some black haired woman.

And then they stopped talking and turned to other activities, if you know what I mean.

I never liked that guy anyways.

He seemed to be using Lacy but I kept my mouth shut.

Like the time he waited for the podium ceremony to be over before he went and visited her at the hospital.

Like dude.

I debated on telling Lacy what he was doing with that girl but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

But then of course the inevitable happened.

She managed to ask almost every person in that club where her supposed boyfriend was until she ended up asking him without knowing.

And she looked hurt.

It's like a switch went off in that girl and she sobered right up.

She was somewhat alert and her balance was back and boy did she mouth him off.

I felt almost achey for her.

I hated seeing her love people so much because for some stupid reason they would never love her back.

Fuck.

He walked away with the girl hand in hand and she was left alone.

That girl is like my baby sister who I'm in charge of taking care of.

I wanted to protect her from those assholes but they always managed to find a way in.

I finish taking a sip of my drink as I slam it down on the table beside the dj booth before going to get her.

"Where are you going?" Lando asks me while grabbing onto my arm.

"It's fine I'll be back mate."

But Lando looks even more confused.

I roll my eyes in laughter as I say "I'm going to get Lacy. Hayden cheated on her."

Carlos whips his head around with wide eyes trying to see where Hayden might be.

"He left with his new mystery woman."

Landos jaw drops the slightest as he also has that strike of sobriety in a similar way to Lacy did before.

I walk over to her.

She's just standing there looking at the ground not really doing anything until I start talking to her, "never really liked him anyways." I say putting an arm around her as I guide her to behind the dj booth.

"Is there anything I can do for you Lacy?" I ask her.

"You could get me another shot."

"No you're cut off for right now." I say to her trying to cut back on the alcohol for the night.

"Trust me I don't think you're going to remember much of this moment tomorrow morning. That's why it's my job as your sober friend to document such events."

"Why are you using big words." Lacy says confused.

"Oh my gosh you dumbass I don't think document and such events are big words."
