Lacy's POV
We're just staring at eachother in my little dressing room.
Gosh life seems so simple every time I get lost in his eyes.
My gaze lingers on his brown curls. Each strand resembles the tangled undergrowth of a lush forest.
His deep green eyes resemble the vibrant leaves of a misty bush.
And he had this smell to him that reminded me of a bonfire.
Oak mixed with the burning sensation of fire crackling the wood down to ash.
I take a deep breath as I notice his eyes wander over my features. Through my hair, to my skin, to my eyes.
Just then the door creaks open and Mr. Veln is ushering me out of the changeroom and towards the shoot set up.
There is so much going on and it's actually very chaotic.
"Get the necklace." Veln says snapping his fingers.
Mel comes out with this absolutely stunning diamond plated necklace.
Mel is wearing a pair of gloves as she fastens the necklace around my neck.
"Now Lacy this is what you need to be selling so chin up and shoulders back ok?" Veln says while admiring the twinkle of the diamond necklace.
Upbeat music is blaring in the background and I'm honestly just enjoying myself.
The director has me try all different kinds of poses and faces.
"Now this time while you're holding the rotary phone give us this sort of annoyed look like you don't want to be on the phone anymore. Exactly perfect." The photographer directs me as the flash bursts.
My favourite part about this shoot is also seeing Lando in behind the cameras.
He's just admiring all that is going on.
But his eyes are fixated on me.
He gives me a quick thumbs up and smile as Mel comes to touch up my makeup.
This is probably the most glamorous I've ever felt honestly.
Growing up my dad and I didn't go out very often and we never went to any sort of fancy events.
Like I said, after he divorced my mom, his band broke up, and I was born, his life was shit to him.
I was that added burden that needed to turn out to be something great in order for him to think his mid 30's and 40's were actually exciting.
"Give us a soft elegant look Lacy. A romantic look like you're gazing off into the distance."
While staring off into a void I notice Lando and I swear I actually feel my eyes soften and a slight smile creep up.
"Perfect we got it Lacy thank you so much hun." The photographer says before immediately going over to his computer to edit the photos.
"Well Lacy Katz you are now about to be in the next issue of Vogue. When it comes closer to race day we will probably be back to take a few more photos. We're thinking of you wearing your helmet with the same dress on track and the necklace is just beaming in the sunlight." Veln says at the most rapid speed as his thoughts burst out.
After changing out of the soft pink gown I throw my hair into a messy bun and wipe off the excess makeup that they had painted over my face.
"Proud of you doll." Lando says putting an arm around me as we leave out of the building.
