Bienvenido a Miami

Hayden and I spent the week lounging around under the palm trees of Miami.

It was some nice needed down time before race week.

We'd get up at around noon everyday, immediately change into our bathing suits and just lay around soaking in the sun.

I'd go from the pool to the beach chair to the ocean and repeat this cycle.

My hair had gotten much lighter, my skin was more tanned and I felt happier.

The serene aquamarine waves were the current soundtrack to my life's little movie as I spent my days with this man who I had grown particularly fond of.

We had also rented a pair of jet skis and we raced around the coast as we enjoyed the salt spray from the ocean.

All of this just made me that much more excited for our summer break.

Except I knew it wouldn't be much of a break, it would be me fighting for my spot as I battled against my engineer in court.

I was going to confront him after this race week as it would finally be our summer break and I wouldn't be in a position of danger.

I hadn't told Hayden about any of this because he didn't need to know about any of this.

I don't like talking about myself to other people because sometimes I feel like they'll get bored of me.

I always loved Miami race weekend. It was one of my favourites to watch on tv. The vibrant colours the good weather and of course the parties that seemed to extravagant and out of reach were finally at my finger tips.

I bought the most gorgeous Annie's Ibiza dress to wear for my first day at the paddock and Hayden had also bought himself a nice linen shirt and khaki pants to match.

I know it was a bit over the top with the glamour, but it was the Miami Grand Prix after all.

Lewis and Zhou were fashion icons, why can't I try to be one?

"Thanks for coming with me so early this morning. I just want to make sure everything goes well today. I need to get some points."

"Lace you'll be fine. You're a great driver either way."

Pulling up to the track photographers were already in place, capturing every angle of my car as we stepped out of it.

This was the first race where I officially went with Hayden by my side.

Montreal was a soft launch but this was definitely a hard launch.

He grabbed my hand as I stepped out of the vehicle and he shut the car door behind me.

He tucked a loose hair away from my face and the cameras fucking loved that oh my gosh the flashes were blinding.
