THIRD-PERSON POV:
June 30th, 2015
7:00AMThe airport terminal was bustling with activity, a symphony of announcements, footsteps, and the hum of conversations blending together. Amidst the sea of travellers, a group of friends stood in a small, tight-knit circle, their expressions a mix of sadness and resolve.
Arush Kumar, standing beside his father, took a deep breath, his heart heavy with the impending farewell. Each of his friends stepped forward, one by one, to share their parting words.
Ritvik was the first to step up. His eyes were glassy, and he took a moment to gather himself before speaking.
"Arush, man, it's... it's hard to believe you're actually leaving. You've been my rock through so many things. Remember those late-night stakeouts, trying to catch a glimpse of Tombstone and Hammerhead? Those moments were tough, but we always made it through together."
Arush nodded, his own eyes misty. "I know, Ritvik. We've faced so much side by side. I'll miss those nights, and I'll miss you, buddy."
Ritvik pulled Arush into a tight hug. "Take care of yourself over there. And don't you dare forget to call. I want to hear all about your adventures in India."
"I will, Ritvik. I promise." Arush replied, his voice choked with emotion.
Agrim stepped forward next, his usual confident demeanor softened by the weight of the moment.
"Arush, it's going to be weird not having you around. We've been through so much, from high school drama to battling supervillains. You've always been the brains behind our operations, and it's going to be hard without you."
Arush smiled, a bittersweet expression on his face. "You're going to do great, Agrim. You always do. Just promise me you'll keep the team in check."
Agrim laughed softly, blinking back tears. "I'll try, but no guarantees without you there to back me up. Stay safe, my friend. And remember, if you ever need anything, we're just a call away."
They embraced tightly, both of them reluctant to let go.
Zain, who had been the most composed up until now, stepped forward. His eyes betrayed the deep emotion he was trying to keep in check.
"Arush, you've been like a brother to me. We've shared so many memories, both good and bad. I can't imagine not having you by my side, but I know this is the right path for you."
Arush took Zain's hand, gripping it firmly. "You've been my best friend, Zain. Thank you for always being there, for believing in me. I'll miss you more than words can say."
Zain's voice cracked slightly. "Take care of yourself over there. And remember, no matter the distance, we're always connected. Spider-Bros for life."
"Spider-Bros for life." Arush echoed, pulling Zain into a heartfelt hug.
Mary Jane was the last to approach, her eyes filled with unshed tears.
"Arush, it feels like just yesterday we were all hanging out, worrying about exams and school dances. Now, everything's changing so fast. I'm going to miss you so much."
Arush smiled warmly at her. "MJ, you've always been like a... I– I don't know what to say. You... Your strength, your kindness—it's something I'll carry with me wherever I go."
MJ's voice trembled. "Promise me you'll stay safe, and that you'll find happiness over there. You deserve it, Arush."
"I promise, MJ. And you keep shining, okay? You're going to do amazing things."
