Simon Dominic

I licked my lips as I looked at the food in front of us. I don't know what possessed me to ask her to stay for dinner. I looked up to find her eyes on mine I held her gaze before she looked away clearing her throat.

"I seen the new car, nice." I complimented.

"Yeah, it was a gift from Byung." She mumbled.

I nodded, I looked at her hand and noticed she had her ring on. She followed my eyes before placing her hands under the table.

"So things are good?" I asked.

"We're working on it." She said.

"So your plan...is over?" I asked.

She looked at me and shook her head.

"We should talk about the gala." She said changing the subject.

"What about it? You looked beautiful." I said.

"You know what I mean." She sighed.

"Enlightened me." I said.

She huffed and scrunched up her nose annoyed, it was adorable...she was adorable. So strong yet so delicate.

"I'm not doing this." She scuffed getting up.

I quickly stood and grabbed her wrist.

"Simon let me go." She snapped.

"Don't leave...look what I said at the gala was. I was drunk a little...I'm sorry." I lied.

Fuck...I choked up.

"You were drunk?" She asked.

"Mhm...I have a low alcohol tolerance." I said.

"And I have a low tolerance for bullshit. Get the fuck out of my way." She said.

"Ok so what if I wasn't drunk then what? Huh?" I asked.

"Simon...get out the way." She sighed.

"It's funny how you want to know if what I said was true. Yet you still wear your ring like you've honored the meaning behind it." I said.

"Jealous?" She asked.

I huffed and sucked my teeth.

"You don't need to worry about what the fuck I'm doing in my personal life anymore. If I recall you wanted no parts of anything." She said poking her finger in my chest.

I bit my lip as I looked down at her our height distance needs to be studied.

"What if I want to be in your personal life?" I asked.

I rubbed my hands down her arm.

"Stop." She said.

I stopped, no means no regardless. She looked at me and created space between us as she rubbed her temples.

"I don't get you, one minute you're telling me you want me the next you don't." She said.
