Kivana Stewart

I picked at my nails as I waited for my name to be called. I don't even know why I was here, this was where all the big lawyers were. I just passed the bar and did my swear in for my license.

This place was out of my lea-

"Ms.Stewart?"

I looked up and stood before following the man to the back. He opened the door to an office before I stepped in.

"Kivana, Kivana...Mh Mh Mh."

I smiled as I looked at someone I would have never thought I would see. Do yall remember when I told y'all I said I didn't look good on paper? Well I wasn't alone.

"Tori what the fuck are you doing here?" I asked placing my purse in the chair.

She smiled and embraced me in a hug.

"I work here, when I seen your name I had to get you in here. To see for myself." She laughed.

"With your god damn rap sheet, I'm surprised you're a lawyer." I laughed.

"Well...when your husband is a multi millionaire, he pulled a few strings and got my record cleared. I went to school and 5 years later I'm here." She smiled.

"Wow, it's been what 14 years?" I asked.

"Yeah." She smiled.

Tori Davis, who is now Tori Smith...we were best friends when I was about 16. We always got into trouble...I craved my parents attention and did just about anything to get it.

"But enough about me what about you?  You're all over the god damn blogs." She asked.

"Well yeah, it's true." I shrugged.

"I'm sorry babe." She said.

"It's fine." I smiled.

"Well it's good you're back home. We actually opened a few months ago." She said.

"That's great." I smiled.

"Good, we have a few attorneys of course we need more. You will be paid according to experience and since you're fresh meat. I'll have to start you at the minimum pay 0f 32.50 an hour." She said.

I nodded.

"Ok, who will I be training under?" I asked.

"Me of course." She chuckled.

"I look forward to it." I smiled.

"We can start you next week, I'll email you for your direct deposit and other paperwork." She said.

"Ok." I said.

"Ok, welcome to Smiths." She smiled.

I shook her hand and smiled.

"We should get drinks sometime." She said,

"Definitely, you have my number just call or shoot me a text." I said.
