Simon Dominic

I let out a breath as I walked into my office, I was anxious to hear more of what Kivana had to explain. It didn't even matter what she said, the answer was going to be no...I am no ones pawn, how do you think the businesses in America succeeded?

"Good morning." Kivana said knocking me out of my thoughts.

"Good morning Ms.Stewart." I said.

She looked at me and nodded before sitting across from me. She crossed her legs causing me to clinch my jaw and look away, it was something about those legs that I was a sucker for.

"Shall we finish our conversation from yesterday?" She asked.

"We should." I nodded.

She nodded before taking a deep breath, I listened intensely as she told me each and every detail. From the insults to the abandonment to the cheating...shit, when she cried I couldn't help but to comfort her. That was a lot for someone to deal with alone.

"I'm sorry you went through that." I said.

"Thank you." She sniffed.

I nodded and sighed.

"This isn't my fight Kivana, so I can't be apart of your revenge plot...it's too risky." I said.

"I understand, let's pretend it didn't happen." She said.

I slowly nodded before removing my arms from around her. I went back to my seat as we began to work, I don't know if it was me but the energy in the room was...off. As much as I tried to shut the little voice in my head up, I couldn't help but to ask.

"So if I'm not your victim then who else would it be?" I asked.

She looked at me before looking at her paper.

"Honestly...Simon, I don't really think that is your business." She said.

I looked at her and opened my mouth before closing it, she was right it wasn't my business. I just couldn't shake the feeling of her laying with another man, why? Why do I give a fuck? It was just a one time thing so why do I care?

"You're right." I nodded.

She nodded as she continued jotting down notes from the presentation.

"Is he going to be another family member?" I asked raising my brow.

She gave me a look causing me to sigh.

"Ok ok." I surrendered.

She went back to writing as my leg began to shake anxiously.

"Is he better looking than me?" I asked.

"Simon." She sighed.

"I'm sorry I'm just curious." I said.

"Yeah, but this goes against you not wanting to be a pawn and I respect that so why are you digging a deeper hole?" She asked annoyed.
