"Lara, watch out! Those bastards are heading your way! We did everything we could to slow them down..." Reyes said over the radio.
"Thanks. Reyes. Get to the boat...If I'm not back..." Lara began as Reyes cut her off.
"We're not leaving without you! We'll be waiting..." Reyes said firmly.
Lara continued to make her way up the monastery mountain until she finally found the ritual site.
"Oh, great Queen. Through the trials I have brought you the vessel. Pour forth, and return to this mortal coil. Pour forth and be reborn. Pour forth and awaken!" Mathias preached.
"Sam! Oh god, I have to get to her!" Lara remarked to herself.
"Pour forth now, fill up this mortal coil!" Mathias pleaded.
"The ritual has begun! Defend Mathias!" A Mercenary said before he was shot in the head.
"Just keep her back, keep her back!" Another mercenary said as he ducked into cover.
"Pour forth, fill up this mortal coil!" Mathias prayed.
"For the Queen!" The mercenary said just as Lara shot him dead with multiple rounds from both of her pistols before she reloaded them both.
"Pour forth, fill up this mortal coil!" Mathias repeated.
"The Queen rises, protect her! Protect the ritual!" A Mercenary called out as the wind began to speed up and rain began to pour.
"For the Sun Queen!" Another mercenary cried out before being shot in the head.
"Here now, your vessel awaits. Rise, great Queen. Fill this vessel with your spirit! Awaken, my Queen... Awaken! Himiko, from the storms... I bring you life... May the winds carry your essence." Mathias prayed as Lara looked at Sam.
"Oh please..." Lara pleaded with whoever was watching, hoping for Sam to make it through this.
"Upon these winds, RISE! RISE!" Mathias chanted
"Sam. Hold on!" Lara called out to her friend who was convulsing in her bonds.
"With the rain, may your soul seep in, filling the vessel." Mathias preached as more mercenaries arrived.
"Stop her, the ritual is almost complete! Goddamn it, keep her back!" A Mercenary ordered his men as he was shot at the same time as another man.
"You won't stop me, you bastards! Get the hell out of my way!" Lara yelled as she lit up the mercenaries.
"May the winds carry your essence." Mathias continued.
"Protect the ritual!" Another mercenary ordered before he was shot three times in the chest, with on bullet going through his heart.
"Upon these winds, RISE! RISE! Himiko, from the storms... I bring you life... Awaken, my Queen..." Mathias continued chanting as the shield of wind remained around him. Meanwhile, stormguard had arrived.
"The guardians are here! Ahh no, the Guardians!" A mercenary called out before being hit with a giant mace and sent flying off of the mountain top.
"Guardians. Look out." Another merc called out before being crushed with the giant mace.
"Keep them back!" A Merc called out before he had his head crushed by the Stormguard's hand.
"No, Mathias! Stop! Don't hurt her!" Lara called out as Mathias continued the ritual even through the thunder, lightning, the wind and the rain, and through his men being slaughtered by either Lara or the Stormguard.
