Y/N and Lara were walking through the forest with Y/N talking to Lara.

"-It's not my fault you were always breaking into the headmasters office." Lara said as Y/N laughed to himself.

"Be fair, you were the reason for a few of those break ins." Y/N said as Lara smiled at him before they found the pilot but he was being attacked by the mercenaries.

"What? What the hell? Go away! Get, get off of me!" The Pilot yelled as he killed two mercenaries using a handgun before one with a machete and a bulletproof shield disarmed him and stabbed him in the gut.

And then, of all the moments, the Radio came alive.

"Lara! You there?"

Lara was quick to turn off the radio while Y/N sighed to himself.

"Not one of these pricks again." Y/N remarked to himself as he avoided an incoming slash from the man's machete, grabbing their wrist and delivering a left cross to their jaw, Y/N ducked under another swing while Lara passed him an arrow, Y/N used it to spin and stab the man in the back of the neck, the arrow coming out of the mans mouth.

Y/N pulled the arrow out of the Mercenary and handed it back to Lara who wiped it on the dead mercs clothes before placing it back in it's quiver. Y/N walked over to the pilot and looked at him, closing the mans eyes before taking the mans Black Leather gloves seeing that they were adjustable, he put them on and adjusted them so that they would fit him. He took the mans handgun and removed the bullets, patting him down for more ammo before giving the handgun ammo to Lara.

"We should get going." Y/N said as Lara nodded. The pair stood up and started making their way along the mountainside until the eventually found a camp to sit and rest for a few moments. Y/N sat down as Lara wrote in her journal while Y/N stared into the fire and thought for a moment.

"I can't get it out of my head. A storm that came out of nowhere, out of a clear sky, and brought down a plane. It's not rational. You know it's not rational, Lara. There must be some explanation. I... I just don't know what it is yet." Lara wrote.

Y/N decided that he may as well tell Lara how he felt, now that they were stranded here, the moment wasn't exactly perfect, and it may come off as random in hindsight, but in his eyes, he could die anytime now, so why not tell her how he felt, at least he'd get closure before he died.

"Look Lara, about the line-up, what I said... about... us."

"Y/N, don't feel the need to apologize, it's fine, I mean I'd have preferred to find out that you didn't feel that way about me in more normal circumstances but at least I know now-"

"Lara-"

"I never told you about my feelings, I shouldn't expect you to tell me about yours-"

"Lara-"

"I suppose it was obvious though, when you left to enlist as soon as you were legally allowed, the argument with my father the week before."

"Lara I love you but would you please shut up so that I can explain?" Y/N said in an annoyed tone, one Lara had never heard him speak to her with. "What I was trying to say was that I was lying, I... I lied to keep you safe."

"That's worked a treat so far." Lara remarked as Y/N sighed. "Wait, what did you just say?"

"I lied to keep you safe."

"Before that... you said..."

"Lara, I love you. Okay. I have for years." Y/N said as he looked her in the eyes. "I know now is hardly the time or place but considering everything, I'll have to make do and tell you. I've loved you since we were in school together Lara."
