A week had passed, and the boys were as busy as ever. Yoongi was deeply immersed in promoting his upcoming release, "Daechwita." The pressures of final recordings, concert rehearsals, and TV appearances had him on edge, his frustration mounting with each passing day. Despite the chaos, he tried to stay connected with Maya through brief texts and calls.
Maya, too, was swamped with her dance show but found joy in a recent development: she had been nominated for the Expansion of Culture Award. Overwhelmed with excitement, she couldn't wait to share the news with Yoongi. She hurried to his studio, her heart pounding with anticipation.
As she burst into the room, Yoongi barely looked up from his work, his face etched with irritation. "I’ve told you not to come here, right?" he snapped, his voice laced with annoyance.
Maya’s smile faltered, but she pressed on, determined to share her good news. "I’m here to share something important with you," she said, her voice tinged with excitement and a hint of nervousness.
"Go ahead, then hurry up and leave. I’m busy," Yoongi retorted sharply, not bothering to hide his irritation.
Taking a deep breath, Maya continued, "I got nominated for the Expansion of Culture Award. It’s my first nomination in Korea."
Yoongi glanced up briefly, his expression unreadable. "Oh, great. Congratulations, Maya," he said flatly, his attention already back on his work.
The lack of enthusiasm in his response pierced Maya’s heart. She felt a wave of disappointment and hurt wash over her. "I will never come back here again," she said quietly, turning to leave.
"Thanks, that’s exactly what I need," Yoongi snapped, his frustration boiling over.
Tears welled up in Maya's eyes as she hurried out of the room, the sting of Yoongi’s words burning in her chest. She ran blindly down the hallway, bumping into Joe.
"Maya, what happened? Why are you crying?" Joe asked gently, his concern evident as he reached out to wipe her tears.
Before Maya could respond, Yoongi stormed out of the studio, his irritation reaching its peak at the sight of Maya with Joe. "What are you guys doing?" he demanded, his voice dripping with jealousy and anger.
Maya’s frustration boiled over. "What does it look like we're doing?" she shot back, her voice trembling with emotion.
Joe, sensing the tension, stepped back. "I’ll leave you two to talk," he said quietly, disappearing down the hallway.
Yoongi’s anger flared. "So, you’re running to him now? Is that it?" he accused, his words sharp and hurtful.
Maya's eyes widened in shock and hurt. "How dare you, Yoongi! You know it’s not like that," she snapped back, her own anger rising.
"You think I don’t see it? The way he looks at you?" Yoongi spat, his frustration boiling over into irrational jealousy.
"Stop it, Yoongi. You’re being ridiculous," Maya said, her voice shaking with a mix of anger and pain. "I came here to share something important with you, and you treated me like I didn’t matter."
"Maybe I’m just too busy to deal with your dramas," Yoongi shot back, immediately regretting his harsh words as soon as they left his mouth.
Maya's hand twitched, and for a moment, she fought the urge to slap him. She took a deep breath, her eyes filling with tears. "I never expected this from you," she whispered, her voice breaking.
Yoongi's expression softened, regret washing over him. "Maya, I..."
"Save it," she interrupted, turning on her heel and running down the hallway, her vision blurred by tears.
An hour later, Maya found herself standing outside Yoongi's studio again. She knew how important this album was to him, and despite the pain he had caused her, she couldn’t let their fight distract him from his work. Taking a deep breath, she knocked softly and entered.
Yoongi looked up, his eyes filled with regret and sorrow. "Maya, I’m so sorry," he began, his voice trembling.
Maya held up a hand to stop him. "I’m not here for an apology right now," she said quietly. "I understand how much pressure you’re under, and I don’t want to add to it. What’s really bothering you, Yoongi? Why are you so stressed?"
Yoongi sighed deeply, his shoulders slumping. "Everything’s just piling up. The album, the concert rehearsals, the TV shows... it’s all too much," he confessed, his voice breaking with fatigue and frustration.
Maya stepped closer, her eyes softening with empathy. "You’re doing an amazing job, Yoongi. You always do. But you need to take care of yourself too," she said gently, reaching out to cup his face. "I believe in you. We all do."
Yoongi’s eyes filled with tears, the weight of his guilt and stress overwhelming him. "I’m so sorry for hurting you, Maya. I didn’t mean any of it," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion.
Maya’s own eyes shimmered with tears as she pulled him into a tight embrace. "I know, Yoongi. I know," she murmured, holding him close. "Just remember, I’m here for you. Always."
The floodgates opened, and Yoongi’s tears spilled over, his body shaking with sobs. "I don’t deserve you," he choked out, clinging to her.
Maya pulled back slightly, looking him in the eyes. "So, are you planning to get someone better? But that’s not going happen when I'm around," she teased gently, a soft smile playing on her lips.
A small, relieved smile broke through Yoongi’s tears. He hugged her even tighter, burying his face in her shoulder. "I’m so sorry, Maya. I love you so much," he whispered, his voice raw with emotion.
"I love you too, Yoongi. We’ll get through this together," she reassured him, her own tears mingling with his.
They stood there, wrapped in each other’s arms, the storm of emotions gradually giving way to a sense of calm and understanding. Yoongi felt the weight lift off his shoulders, his heart swelling with gratitude for the woman who stood by him, even in his darkest moments.
Maya pulled back slightly, looking up at him with a gentle smile. "Now, let's get back to work. You have an amazing album to finish."
Yoongi nodded, his heart lighter. "Thank you, Maya. For everything." he said softly, his voice steadier now. "I promise I’ll make this right."
Maya smiled gently, brushing away his tears. "I know you will. Just take it one step at a time."
With a renewed sense of determination, Yoongi nodded. "I will. And thank you for believing in me."
Maya kissed his forehead tenderly. "Always, Yoongi. Always."
As she left the studio, Yoongi watched her go, his heart full of love and gratitude. He knew he had a lot of work ahead of him, but with Maya by his side, he felt ready to face anything.
