Once the intense conversation with her mother had settled, Mrs. Janani looked at Maya and said, “Go make some coffee for everyone, please.”

Maya nodded, glancing at Yoongi and the boys before heading to the kitchen. As she left, Mrs. Janani turned to Yoongi. “Yoongi, come with me. I’d like to talk to you privately.”

Yoongi’s heart pounded, but he followed Mrs. Janani out to the balcony. They stood there for a moment in silence, the tension palpable. Mrs. Janani finally broke the silence, her tone softer but still serious. “They call you a genius, don’t they? How did you fall for such a crazy woman?”

Yoongi blinked, taking a moment to choose his words carefully. “Aunty, she’s not crazy. She’s just being herself. Honestly, I’ve wondered why I love her too. But even though I haven't found an answer to that, I know one thing for sure: I love Maya. She’s all I’ve ever wanted in life.”

Mrs. Janani’s expression softened slightly, but her concern was evident. “But Yoongi, how will you let the world know about this? How long are you going to maintain this secret relationship? And does your family know about her?”

Yoongi took a deep breath. “Aunty, we’re working on finding the right time to let the world know. We’ve been cautious to protect each other and our careers. My family doesn’t know about Maya yet, but I promise to introduce her to them soon.”

Mrs. Janani’s eyes widened in shock. “Your family doesn’t know? Yoongi, how can you be serious about her if you haven’t told your family?”

“Aunty, I understand your concern. It’s not because I’m not serious. It’s because I wanted to make sure I could protect her from any backlash. But I promise, I will take her home soon and make sure my family knows and supports our relationship,” Yoongi replied earnestly.

Mrs. Janani’s eyes searched his face for sincerity. “And how do you plan to protect her from the media, from the public? You know how ruthless they can be.”

Yoongi nodded earnestly. “I promise you, Aunty, I will protect Maya with everything I have. She means the world to me, and I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe. She’ll be my queen, and I’ll stand by her no matter what.”

Mrs. Janani’s expression softened further, a mix of relief and worry in her eyes. “You really love her, don’t you?”

“Yes, Aunty, with all my heart,” Yoongi replied, his voice filled with conviction.

She sighed deeply, looking out over the balcony. “You know, it’s not just about love. It’s about the challenges, the cultural differences. This is a hard path you’ve chosen.”

“I understand that, Aunty,” Yoongi said gently. “But Maya and I are ready to face those challenges together. We believe that love can bridge those differences.”

Mrs. Janani’s eyes filled with tears. “You’re a good man, Yoongi. I just want what’s best for my daughter.”

“I promise to be the best for her,” Yoongi said softly. “I’ll cherish her and make sure she’s happy.”

Mrs. Janani looked at him for a long moment before finally nodding. “Alright, Yoongi. I see how much you care for her. I won’t stand in your way. But remember, this path won’t be easy. And please, keep my approval a secret for now.”

Yoongi nodded, a determined look on his face. “I understand, Aunty. Thank you for giving us a chance.”

Mrs. Janani continued, her tone now filled with concern. “And about her father…he’s very traditional. This won’t be easy for him to accept. I’m afraid of his reaction.”
