Maya had been summoned to BigHit to sign an advertisement contract with Jungkook. After signing, she eagerly headed to the studio where the boys were rehearsing. They greeted her with warm hugs, though Yoongi was notably absent, busy with his work alongside PSY.
During a break, the boys caught up with Maya, asking about her mom and her dance classes. Jungkook was particularly excited about their upcoming ad together.
"How's your mom doing, Maya?" Namjoon inquired kindly.
"She's great, thanks! Busy as ever with her gardening," Maya replied with a smile.
"And your dance classes?" Jimin asked with curiosity.
"They're going really well. My students are a joy to teach," Maya responded, her enthusiasm shining through.
Jungkook grinned, "I can't wait for our ad. It's going to be epic!"
Jin, known for his deep questions, gazed at Maya thoughtfully. "Maya, have you ever questioned whether you made the right choice with Yoongi? If you could go back knowing everything, would you still choose him?"
Taken aback by the question and wanting to lighten the mood, Maya joked, "Hmm, if Yoongi wasn't around, maybe I'd choose someone with smoother dance moves!"
The room chuckled at Maya's jest, enjoying the playful banter. But the laughter abruptly ceased when Yoongi's voice cut through sharply, "Maya."
Startled, Maya turned to see Yoongi standing at the entrance, his expression a mix of hurt and anger. "Yoongi, I didn't mean it that way. I was just kidding," she quickly explained.
Yoongi's voice was cold and controlled, betraying the turmoil within. "Is that so? It seems like love is just a joke to you, Maya."
Maya's heart sank. She knew she had unintentionally wounded him, but she hadn't anticipated such a harsh reaction. "Yoongi, please, you know I didn't mean it like that. I love you, no matter what."
Yoongi took a step closer, his voice trembling with emotion. "What separates you from the one who left me before? Tell me, Maya."
The other boys exchanged worried glances, sensing the tension in the room. Namjoon attempted to intervene, "Yoongi, let's calm down and talk about this."
But Yoongi cut him off, his gaze fixed on Maya. "Stay out of this," he insisted firmly.
Maya reached out to Yoongi, her voice shaking, "Yoongi, please believe me. I never wanted to hurt you. You mean everything to me."
Yoongi shook his head, his eyes filled with pain. "I need space right now, Maya. Just go."
Heartbroken and tears streaming down her face, Maya pleaded, "Yoongi, please..."
But Yoongi turned away, unable to bear the intensity of their exchange. "I said leave."
Feeling shattered and helpless, Maya slowly retreated, the weight of his words crushing her. She felt like she had shattered something precious between them, and she didn't know how to mend it.
The studio fell silent with tension and sadness as Maya left, her emotions in turmoil. The boys exchanged solemn looks, uncertain of what to say or do. Jungkook finally spoke up, his voice tinged with concern, "Hyung, maybe we should give them some time to sort things out."
Yoongi remained silent, his fists clenched in frustration. Jin stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand on Yoongi's shoulder. "Hyung, she didn't mean it the way it sounded. You know Maya loves you."
Yoongi closed his eyes briefly, trying to quell the storm of emotions inside him. "I know," he finally muttered, his voice strained. "But sometimes, words can hurt more than we intend."
Jimin sighed softly, "Maybe we should check on Maya. She looked really upset."
Namjoon nodded in agreement, "Let's give them some space for now."
Outside the studio, Maya had retreated to a quiet corner, tears still flowing freely. She felt lost and remorseful, replaying their painful conversation in her mind. She knew she had crossed a line with her careless remark, and now she feared she had pushed Yoongi away for good.
Lost in her anguish, Maya was unaware of Hobi approaching until he gently called out her name. Startled, she looked up, tears streaking her cheeks. "Hobi..."
Hobi sat down beside her, his presence a comforting anchor. "Maya, are you okay?"
She shook her head, unable to contain her sorrow. "I... I hurt him, Hobi. I didn't mean to. Yoongi means everything to me."
Hobi placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I know you didn't mean it. Yoongi will understand, given time."
"I hope so," Maya whispered, her heart heavy with regret. "I just wish I could take back those words..."
"You can't change the past, Maya," Hobi said gently. "But you can give Yoongi the space he needs and talk to him when he's ready to listen."
Maya nodded slowly, her thoughts still consumed by guilt and longing. "I will... I just hope he'll forgive me."
Meanwhile, inside the studio, Yoongi sat alone, wrestling with conflicting emotions. He knew Maya loved him deeply, but her words had unearthed old wounds he thought had healed. He couldn't shake the feeling of being compared to someone from Maya's past, someone who had left him shattered and questioning everything.
Taehyung approached cautiously, taking a seat beside Yoongi. "Hyung, are you okay?"
Yoongi managed a bitter laugh, "Do I look okay, Tae?"
Jimin sighed, "I know this is hard, hyung. But Maya loves you. She didn't mean to hurt you."
Yoongi ran a hand through his hair, frustration evident in his voice. "I know she loves me. But sometimes... it's not enough."
Jungkook joined them, his expression earnest. "Hyung, maybe you should talk to her. She's really upset."
"I need time," Yoongi replied tersely, his gaze fixed on the floor. "I need to sort things out."
Jin, who had been quietly observing, spoke up gently, "Yoongi, Maya's waiting outside. She's hurting too."
Yoongi's heart clenched at the thought of Maya in pain. He didn't want to hurt her, but he couldn't ignore the turmoil within himself either.
"Hyung," Jungkook said softly, "we all make mistakes. It's how we handle them that counts."
Yoongi closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He knew Jungkook was right. He couldn't let his pride or hurt feelings destroy their relationship. Slowly, he stood up, his resolve firming.
"I'll talk to her," Yoongi said finally, his voice steadier than before.
Outside, Maya looked up as she saw Yoongi approaching. Her heart skipped a beat, but she could see the pain and uncertainty in his eyes. She stood up tentatively, unsure of what to expect.
"Yoongi," she began softly.
Yoongi stopped in front of her, his expression guarded yet searching. "Maya, I... I can't just forget what you said. I need space."
Maya's heart sank, tears welling up once more. "Yoongi, please... I love you. I didn't mean to hurt you."
Yoongi looked away, his voice strained with emotion. "I know you love me, Maya. But I need time to figure things out."
Feeling utterly devastated, Maya nodded silently, the weight of his words crushing her spirit. She watched as Yoongi turned and walked away, leaving her heartbroken and alone.
Back in the studio, the boys exchanged concerned glances, their hearts heavy with empathy for both Yoongi and Maya. They knew that healing would take time, but they held onto hope that love would eventually guide them back together.
