The following days were a whirlwind for Yoongi and Maya. The article that had gone viral brought much-needed support, but the wounds from the betrayal still lingered. One evening, Yoongi received an anonymous email that piqued his curiosity.
"Yoongi, I've been following your story closely. I wrote the article because I believe idols deserve to live normal lives. I want to help you and Maya. Please meet me at the Star Cafe tomorrow at noon. - A Friend."
Yoongi hesitated but decided to take the chance. The next day, he made his way to the cafe, wearing a disguise to avoid unwanted attention. As he approached, he saw a familiar face that made his heart skip a beat. It was the reporter who had once tried to harass Maya.
"Yoongi?" the reporter asked softly.
Yoongi's eyes narrowed. "You wrote the article?"
"Yes, I did," the reporter admitted. "Please, sit down. We need to talk."
Yoongi sat down, his posture tense. "Why should I trust you?"
The reporter sighed. "I understand your hesitation. My name is Jihoon. I used to see you as a target, someone to take down. But Maya changed that."
"Maya?" Yoongi asked, his curiosity piqued. "What did she do?"
Jihoon leaned in, his voice lowering. "When I tried to harass her, and she brought me to take revenge, she didn't react with anger. Instead, she confronted me, demanding to know why I wanted to bring you down. She was determined to understand my motives."
Yoongi listened intently as Jihoon continued. "At first, I was taken aback by her courage. She told me that you and the other BTS members work tirelessly to bring joy to your fans and that I should reconsider my actions. She challenged me to look at myself and my reasons for trying to hurt you."
Yoongi's expression softened slightly. "Maya did that?"
"Yes," Jihoon continued. "Her words stuck with me. She made me see how wrong I was. I was jealous of your success and wanted to bring you down to make myself feel better. But Maya made me realize that my actions were not only hurting you but also those who cared about you."
Yoongi felt a surge of gratitude and amazement. "Maya is special. She has a way of seeing the good in people, even when they don't see it in themselves."
Jihoon nodded. "Exactly. I owe her and you an apology. And I want to help you. Whatever you need, I'm here to support you."
Yoongi took a deep breath, considering Jihoon's offer. "Thank you, Jihoon. Your article made a huge difference. And congratulations on its success."
Jihoon smiled, relief evident in his eyes. "I'm glad. By the way, congratulations on 'Daechwita.' It's an incredible album. It touched my soul."
Yoongi's expression softened further. "Thank you. That means a lot."
After meeting with the reporter, Yoongi made his way to Maya's studio, ensuring he wasn't caught as the management had people keeping an eye on him and had warned him to avoid meeting Maya. Sneaking in quietly, he caught sight of Maya in the midst of her practice. Enthralled by her grace and perfection, he couldn't help but murmur to himself, "What a woman..."
As Yoongi watched, he fell for her all over again. Her dance was mesmerizing; every movement was fluid and precise. Her eyes shone with passion, her smile was radiant, and her expressions were captivating. The way her hands and feet moved with such grace and control drew him in completely. He stood there, transfixed, marveling at her artistry.
In the middle of a turn, Maya caught a glimpse of Yoongi outside. She quickly excused herself, signaling for him to enter a nearby room before any students could spot him. She didn't want any trouble. As she walked inside, Yoongi pulled her into a tight embrace.
