The Soldier looked away from his newfound companions' eyes and answered ( I don't know what to say. I want to tell you all my name, but I discarded it due to the fact it was the name my father gave to me to honor himself; I am named after him and I wish not called by that bastard God-forsaken name )

The General nodded and replied ( I understand you are still trying to figure things out and you are using war as a coping mechanism, I did the same when I was a part of the Hive Mind focusing on all my hatred for what those bastards have taken from me)

(But now I am forced to face reality I wouldn't have been in that position if I didn't want to be in that position. In other words, no one is responsible for my actions other than myself.) The general's once very proud face turns to a face of remorse and regret.

( Your worthless father has no power over you right now you are not just a soldier and you are not just his name when you are ready to pick a name for yourself, tell us after the battle is over and I guarantee you we will show nothing but respect for whatever name you choose)

The Soldier had to look away for a moment again, trying his best, his absolute best not to give him to his emotions, but when he felt his Fang hand on his shoulder, one single tear went down his face, a unique and a little ugly smile crept across his battle-hardened face.

He finally spoke after a few minutes of thinking (thank you all for the support but we going to have to shove these feelings down because if we don't do something sooner we might lose this moment of happiness forever we need a plan to fight against The Hive Mind sorry if this sounds insensitive)

Everyone begins to talk about trying their best to come up with a plan that doesn't get everyone killed or separated as the commotion of the argument begins to blossom.

Mech Girl walked over to her Tank-Armor. The set of armor was covered in claw marks and bullet holes, not to mention the huge dent in the back where her spine was almost broken; the little girl grabbed her hand and asked her (do you think we are going to survive this )?

Normally, Mech Girl wouldn't know what to say. She is a nervous wreck by nature, only focusing on technology and her friends like she has tunnel vision, simply coping with her trauma by simply focusing on things she can fix rather than on the things she can't fix.

But right now, if she is destined to die, she wants to give someone hope, and the little girl is a perfect person to give hope to.

Mech Girl looked her in the eyes and answered ( her hopeless question with (when I first became The Oni I was always afraid of dying and yet I didn't I have the feeling we all will make it through this and you will be just fine matter of fact I might gift you some of comics when this all over with.)

The little girl's eyes lit up with anticipation and a newfound hope to look towards the future even if it wasn't even close to guaranteed, but that humans for you clinging to whatever hope, even false hope, for the mere chance of a better future.
