The young woman woke up in the arms of Fang; before she could ask what happened last night, she was interrupted by The Soldier telling her,( Fang is taking a liking to you, want to talk for while we wait for her to wake up. )
She nodded and followed him outside, He grabbed a beat-up pack of Rust Devils, a local brand of cigars, out of his pocket and lit one, and then he offered her one; she wanted to say no, but she wanted to be cool in front of her old captain.
But as soon as she placed the cigar in her mouth, she threw up all over the mudded ground, almost hitting both of them. He wasn't sure if it was the liqueur from last night or his strong, fat cigars that did it.
But he knew it was his fault, he gave her his water canteen to wash out her mouth but before taking the canteen she thanked him for saving her life ( most other mercenaries wouldn't do that and especially not waste time by helping me or send my friends home to their families), he raises his hand to tell her to stop talking and replied ( reason one it called human decency most people would have done).
( Reason Two I'm a soldier and a true good soldier never leaves another soldier behind no matter what, reason three I know what it's like to lose a close friend due to something out of your control, it eats away at you and keeps you asking yourself these questions that don't have a good answer just give you more questions ).
( Don't wonder about The what-ifs. Only focus on what you learn from it and use that to prevent it from happening again as much as humanly possible. That's the best people like us can hope for, to try to learn from our past mistakes).
She nodded, not knowing really what to say, All she could do was appreciate he was trying to comfort her in his weird way, but she knew sooner or later she would have to venture back Into The Bunker's hellish steel walls regardless of whether she wanted to or not because the technology down there could change everything.
Also, her newfound obsession with making her friend's death mean something kept her from walking away, so she chose to follow them into the Biomechanical Gates of Hell call the bunker once again to make a difference or a legacy for her dead friends, not even she was completely sure at that moment.
But deep down, she knew her answers lay in deep in the bunker, and she was damn well determined to find out what it is; over a week, they'll get more supplies and bounties to veteran Back Into The Bunker where the horrors lay.
The Bunker door slams behind them as they walk deeper into mechanical madness passing by the mountains of corpses of past Mercenaries and Treasure Hunters, the stench of death and mechanical oil passing through their nostrils with every step.
They hear the sound of shuffling feet marching in unison towards them with the mumbles of Mad Men reliving a war they can never truly escape from; as they ready themselves for the worst, a wall of bullets and bayonets comes out from the darkness in front of them.
The Young woman shielded the others, her Tank-Armor withstood most of the bullets and bayonets, but some of them managed to Pierce through due to her hastily welding her power armor back together; her wounds were deep but not too deep, still survivable.
They saw figures in the darkness rushing towards them with roaring auto bayonets and auto trench axes, screaming a guttural mechanical painful Battle Cry
( For The Bunker!!!)
