Saddest Goodbye

In the twilight's fading glow,

Lies the saddest goodbye we know.

Two hearts bound by time's cruel thread,

Now must part, where tears are shed.

Hands once clasped in love's embrace,

Now tremble as they find their space.

Eyes that shared a thousand dreams,

Now speak of loss in silent streams.

The moments that we held so tight,

Now dissolve in the dimming light.

Whispers soft, of love once known,

Now echo through the night, alone.

Promises made beneath the stars,

Now lie broken, leaving scars.

A future once so brightly planned,

Now slips like grains of golden sand.

Memories haunt each waking breath,

In the shadow of love's death.

Laughter that once filled the air,

Now is silence, deep despair.

Yet in this parting, love remains,

In the sorrow, in the pains.

For every tear that falls tonight,

Is a testament to love's bright light.

Though paths diverge and hearts must part,

You'll remain within my heart.

In every sunset, every dawn,

Your memory will linger on.

So, as we say this last farewell,

Know our love was deep and well.

And though we walk on separate ways,

Our souls are bound by shared days.

The saddest goodbye we must face,

Leaves an empty, aching space.

Yet within, love's ember glows,

In every tear, love's legacy shows.

For in the end, love's true test,

Is not in holding, but in the rest.

To let go, yet still hold dear,

The love that brought us here.
