"Majed?" He was startled out of the memories when he heard Murtasim call for him once again. Giving another long lasting look to the picture, he exited the room starting to walk towards his youngest brother's room.
Murtasim followed suit giving a last glance to his parents room before closing the door and locking it, pocketing the key. He closed his eyes for a moment to collect himself and get rid of the resurfacing emotions. Letting out a sigh he followed the direction Majed had walked off to.
Walking into the youngest's room he found Majed sitting next to the sleeping child, running his hand through Mirza's hair who seemed to relax further into his sleep.
"Majed? Baba se naraz ho?" Murtasim questioned moving to sit next to him on the bed. Majed responded with a shrug of his shoulders and Murtasim smiled knowingly. Majed is sulking but acting as if he is nonchalant.
{Majed, are you upset with me?}
"Mene apne bache ko zada zor se mar dia Kiya?" He kept his gaze on Majed trying to look for a reaction and he was awarded by a glare, that looked anything but dangerous.
{Did I hit my baby too hard?}
Chuckling at the antics Majed used to display anger, he pulled him away from Mirza and into his own embrace. "I was a bit harsh, wasn't I? Maj, I didn't want to scold you but you have to be careful when moving around, sweetheart. I can't afford you to get injured, you know how that affects your health, right? I'm sorry, mere cute se bacche, kuj Jada hi dant dia apko."
{I'm sorry baby, I scolded you a bit too much}
Majed looked up at Murtasim and stared at the eyes that portrayed nothing but love for him, he gave up and hugged his baba tightly who on instinct pulled him closer to himself, ruffling his hair.
He soaked in the comfort, listening to the heart beat that soothed him, nearly putting him to sleep.
"Baba ji?" Murtasim smiled warmly knowing his son was cooking something in his brain, the sugar coated voice proved it and let's just say he knew him very well.
"Ji Baba ki jaan" Still he responded with fondness, and Majed picked up his head from Murtasim's chest before smiling cheekily. "Can I have ice cream?"
"No" the firm answer was delivered without a second thought.
"But-"
"No buts, ifs or ands Majed. You know very well why you aren't allowed ice-cream" Murtasim spoke evenly looking into Majed's eyes to make sure he understands that he is firm on his decision and wouldn't change it.
"Baba, please. I haven't even touched it in so long and I really really want to eat it, please" Murtasim pondered over his thoughts and he couldn't help but agree that he was indeed right. However, he didn't want to risk the ice-cream affecting his airway system because he has fallen Ill due to consuming too much of it.
"Majed, I'll let you have it but only the quantity I will give you, and no don't even think about fighting me on this because otherwise you can kiss your ice-cream goodbye" Murtasim stated firmly, cutting Majed off when he tried to protest. Majed twisted his lip between his teeth thinking about the deal that was laid before him, knowing he didn't have much of a choice he nodded his head.
"I'll choose the flavour, though" Majed demanded and Murtasim smiled nodding his head before laying a gentle kiss on his head.
"Can we go and have ice-cream now then, what are we waiting for?"
"Wait for Mirza to wake up or he wouldn't let you hear the end of it, knowing you were planning to have ice-cream without him"
"Hawww, you both were planning to have ice-cream without me, how could you?" Mirza, who was now rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, pointed an accusatory finger at them.
