Murtasim chuckled low in his throat, sneering out, "Lying, now are we? I don't like liars Majed, and you know that well!"
…
Majed refused to look him in the eye after being caught, he knew Murtasim hated being lied to, but in his opinion, he had no other choice.
“What’s wrong, why can’t you look me in the eyes now?” Murtasim taunted but sighed in disappointment when he was met with silence.
“Alright, do you have anything to add to that? Or shall I proceed with the punishment?” Murtasim asked.
Majed finally looked up, “Baba!”
“Majed” Murtasim replied evenly, his lips set in a firm, straight line.
“I won’t do it again, I’ll be home by my curfew next time!” Majed whined. Murtasim heaved a sigh, standing up to his full height, and towering over Majed.
Murtasim completely ignored what Majed had said and began, “List out all the things you did!"
“Baba! You already know what I did! I’m not saying it! And on top of that you listed it out anyways so why should I do it?!” Majed retorted sassily, it was embarrassing to list out the number of rules he’d disobeyed in a short period of time that was given to him.
Majed cringed away at the chilling stare that was shot his way. "You are under no circumstances to use that tone with me, young man! One more attempt at being disrespectful, and I’ll ensure to spank all of it out of you!"
"Now, going back, provide me with an answer to what I'd asked of you!" Murtasim stated calmly, folding his arms across his chest, his stance appearing more intimidating to Majed.
Majed ducked his head down, cursing himself for opening his big mouth, "I came home late. I didn't answer....when you called me. I....I got into a fight."
Murtasim smiled sarcastically, "Where's all the confidence now? And don't forget the fact you lied to my face. I understand if you don't want to tell me but when it regards your safety, I have the right to know what is going on."
"Has lying become your hobby now? If you can't be honest at least don't lie to me, especially when you know I can read you like an open book!" Majed looked as if he could tear up when he heard the hurt in Murtasim's voice.
Majed tried to comprehend the words he could use to convince Murtasim the fight wasn't his fault but in the end his Baba didn't know about bike racing. He could never find out, it would leave him devastated.
Being met with silence again, Murtasim hardened his stance, adding, "Why did you hide your injuries from me?"
Majed continued to keep his head down, infuriating Murtasim. He turned Majed to the side, and raised his hands to spank his bottom twice.
"Oww...oww...Baba!" Majed winced, trying to rub the sting away but his uninjured hand was whacked away.
"Don't!" The warning was clearly present behind that harsh tone.
"You put yourself in harms way and then proceeded to keep your injuries hidden! What were you thinking?!... Do you think that was the best decision you made?!"
Majed shook his head, keeping it low. Murtasim sighed, he'd been doing that a lot lately. Gently leading him to the couch, he motioned for Majed to sit. "Majed, the only reason you have a curfew is to keep you guys safe, i gave you the privilege of being out later than normal but I didn't know you'd take that to your advantage."
"A fight? Seriously? I thought you knew better than that! You know about your health condition, but you put yourself in harm's way, that is something I would never take lightly. I don't know the reason you did this but all that matters to me is, You Were Hurt! I hope you understand where I'm coming from!" He lectured!
