The next morning, Majed dropped his head on the breakfast table, refusing to acknowledge the meal set before him. He slowly closed his eyes, trying to go back to sleep but jolted awake when he was tapped on the head.

His head sprang up, "Pap-", he cut himself off when his eyes met with the familiar ones. No, it's not Papa, snap out of it! He can't be here, he's not coming back!

It was just an illusion, just a dream, more like a nightmare, which laid down the events of that one day where he lost the two people that loved him to the core.

Maaz stared at him cautiously, "What were you about to say?"

Majed forced a smile on his face, adding a question of his own, "Why did you wake me up?"

Not that he could fall asleep, but he wanted to rest his heavy eyes that felt burdened to stay open.

"I-"

"Why haven't you both started eating yet? And where's Mirza?", Murtasim inquired, placing a plate on the table.

"Don't tell me he fell asleep again", Maaz mumbled. "I'll go and check up on him"

"Wait," Murtasim ordered, his eyebrows furrowed in concern, "Has he fully recovered though? Do you think he can go to school?"

"I kept an eye on him throughout the night and there are no signs of the fever returning. He seems to be back to normal except from that he may feel a bit weakness," Maaz explained and Murtasim nodded his head in understanding.

"All right, check on him real quick. That kid could go back to sleep even after sleeping for twelve hours straight," Murtasim muttered though there was a hind of amusement underlying his tone.

Maaz stalked up the stairs while Murtasim put his focus on Majed who had laid his head on the table again, "Majed, sit up and start eating before I have to reheat that plate."

"Not hungry Baba,"

"Just try to eat as much as you can and then if you think it's too much, you can leave it on that plate. We'll just have a healthy amount of lunch then." Murtasim encouraged.

"'m not hungry" Majed repeated.

Murtasim released a sigh and pushed Majed up by getting a hold of his shoulders, "There's not much to eat on your plate. Finish this quickly and then get the files from the study that we need for today's schedule"

Majed huffed tiredly, "I'm not doing anything. Leave me alone!"

Murtasim stared at him calmly, "Watch how you speak to me. I'll get the files but start eating, please."

Majed knew it was best not to push his luck, therefore he grabbed the spoon in his hand and started to gulp down the content on his plate. He heaved a dramatic sigh, "There's no need to hover over me, I'll eat. You can go and get the files, cause I ain't going!"

Murtasim grabbed the back of Majed's neck and tilted his head up once he had swallowed the bite in his mouth. "Is there a specific reason for the attitude you're giving me? Because if there is then let me know and we can talk it out. There's no need to snap at me or anyone else rather,"

Majed swallowed the lump in his throat and Murtasim softened up slightly yet kept his hand locked on Majed neck. "I'm sorry Baba,"

Murtasim nodded and stepped back as he lingered near the table, keeping a close eye on Majed, though he focused on setting the other plates to not make it obvious.

"Good morning baba!", Mirza said, wrapping his hands around Murtasim's waist.

"Good morning baby", Murtasim replied, pressing a kiss on his head. "Alright, make a start on your breakfast. You both have twenty minutes!"
